Israel is my homeland.
Israel is the holiest place to the religion I practice: Judaism.
Israel is the place I love most.
Israel is where I was born and raised.
Israel is the place I will return to soon.
Israel is the place my grandparents moved to in the 1920s; it is there that they paved roads and dried swamps; all for the sake of reclaiming their homeland. |

It is important to me because, in a post-Holocaust world, there is a state within which Jews can never again be persecuted. |

All humanity is important to me.But Israel is always threatened by many many enemies.I want them to live and let live.Think of the people and not the geographical borders. |

There are two reasons.
One: Israel is the historic base of the religions most important to me, Judaism and Christianity. Islam too, of course, but I don't have a personal connection to Islam. I am a Christian, and Judaism is the basis of Christianity. So, to me, Jerusalem is a holy city in some ways..
Two: Modern Israel is as good an example as we have, in this fallen world, of a nation modeled and living by Judeo-Christian principles.
I'm not implying that modern Israel is perfect and without sin or evil. Of course not. But it is based on the right principles. |

Mainly because God has put a love for Israel in my heart.
Ofer Levi & Itzik Kala have a lot to do with it nowadays. ;)
Mainly 'cause my Lord wept for Jerusalem, as I do. |

It is not any more important to me than any other country - except that it drains a lot of money out of America. |

Israel is important to me because it sucks nearly 3 billion dollars annually from our government. What we receive in return I have no idea.
Our governments allegiance to Israel has also put us in a precarious situation with Iran.
Why our elected officials feel the need to subsidize and protect Israel is a question I would like answered. |

It is important because it is the last unsolved colonial rule in the world and there are a lot of things to do to solve it.
Some say the colony should be divided between the colonists and the natives and some say it should be one viable constitutional democratic state for both the natives and the colonists.. |

Israel was created in 1948, as a result of the League of Nations Mandate of 1922, which granted a mandate to Great Britain to create a "National Home" for the Jews in Palestine. This right was based on the right to self determination, a right shared by all peoples.
It's a chunk of land, I can't imagine it having any more importance than a chunk of gold or any other material thing, religion is in your being not under your feet.
Get real and stop looking for a place to put religion. |

It is a good example of the purest form of pre-meditated genocide in human history. I say this as a Harvard and rabbinically trained Jewish studies expert. |
