Why is Israel considered a failing country? |
According to
http://www.foreignpolicy.com/story/cms.php?story_id=4350&page=1
Israel is classified as one of the failing/ unstable/ unsuccessful countries very similar to Angola and Philippines
Is this true? Additional Details All answers are disappointing and misleading, I had to make my homework to find the reason, the true one and not the excuses you mentioned. I wish I never asked you. Thanks anyway |

It is very interesting to look through the "Indicators of Instability" for ersatz israel.
Demographic Pressures 7.2
Refuges and Displaced Persons 8.1
Group Grievance 9.0
Human Flight 3.8
Uneven development 7.5
Economy 3.9
Delegitimization of State 7.5
Public Services 7.2
Human Rights 7.9
Security Apparatus 5.5
Factionalized Elites 8.0
External Intervention 8.0
It raises a number of questions for me. Firstly how did these particular indicators come to be chosen? Are they the only ones related to instability, or just the most important?
What about a category called Foreign Aid? That would be an indicator of how well the country was at sustaining itself. In ersatz israel case it would garner an instant 10. What would that do to its position?
Second question. If we look at Human Rights, ersatz israel scores 7.9. How did this figure come to be? Why didn't it score 7.8 or 8.0?
I can't help thinking, that these figures are inaccurate. Once again, look at Human Rights. While 7.9 is a disgraceful figure, do you think it accurately reflects the atrocities the zionist government is involved in? What on earth would the zionists have to do to raise it to 8.0 or god forbid 9.0? Would a 10 require the deaths of 4 million people? As far as I am concerned, the government is either breaking human rights or it is not. How can you be half pregnant?
Lets look at what ersatz israel actually scored well in, or relatively well in. Under Economy, they score a 3.9. How can that be possible? We are talking about basket economy here that has lived off of donations for 60 years. The government is broke due to the cost of occupation and the ongoing wars, and the stock market has 80% ownership by just 18 families. The zionist government has been selling off government businesses to keep its head above water. A nasty state of affairs.
Lastly, look at the category of Human Flight. 2007 was the first year, that the level of emigration was higher than the level of immigration; and they are government figures. Would that not be covered under this category? Isn't that considered human flight? If so, how can ersatz israel score 3.8?
If we were to say that these two figures along were incorrect, and had an additional say 3.0 for each to bring then up to a general 7.0 (general for ersatz israel), they would have a score of 90, equivalent to Syria, sitting at position 35.
I wonder where ersatz israel would be if you considered the wars they instigated?
There is no doubt that ersatz israel is a basket case. You ask the question why? To my mind, there are five major reasons:
1. It is an artificial country, that has no history of co-operation with its neighbours.
2. Its government has not had the education or experience necessary to govern.
3. The cost of occupation.
4. The wars it instigates.
5. The high level of corruption.
If you doubt what i have to say, go back to the emigration and immigration figures. Ask yourself the hard questions of why every year greater and greater numbers of people are leaving, and why less and less people arre arriving. |

Israel is fighting an on going war, 60 years of it, still it is way more developed than half the countries of this world, give it peace and it will be at the top of the unfailing/ stable/successful countries of the world.
But then again I think Israel does not need me to defend it. |

Every country is on that list, click next. Israel is 58th place, not bad for a country that is surrounded by enemies.
Anyways Israel currently has a job boom, Israel stock market is going up while everyone elses is going down and when the elections come and Kadima are voted out, I think you will see some major changes for the best |

ISRAEL IS NOT A FAILING COUNTRY
israel is the best country in the world, it has friendly wonderful warm people.the best place in the middle east is Israel.Israel is great because,
its the only true democratic country in the region, its the most advanced in technology Israel has a vibrant cultural life and a technologically and industrially advanced economy. In 2006, Israel was ranked 23rd out of 177 countries in the United Nations Human Development Index, the highest ranking in the Middle East and third highest in all of Asia.
israel has great tourism, which benefits from the plethora of important historical sites for Judaism and Christianity and from Israel's warm climate and access to water resources. Tourism in Israel includes a rich variety of historical and religious sites in the Holy Land, as well as modern beach resorts, archaeological tourism, heritage tourism and ecotourism.
israel has great tourist attractions which other countries in the middle east cant beat, like many great museaums Tel Aviv, Haifa, Herzliya, and Jerusalem have excellent art museums, and many towns and kibbutzim have smaller high-quality museums. The Israel Museum in Jerusalem houses the Dead Sea Scrolls along with an extensive collection of Jewish religious and folk art. The Museum of the Diaspora is located on the campus of Tel Aviv University. Israel has artist colonies in Safed, Jaffa, and Ein Hod, as well as three major repertory companies, the most famous being Habima Theater
Israel has the highest school life expectancy in the Greater Middle East , It is ranked 22 out of 111 nations. Israel also has the highest literacy rate in the Middle East according to the UN.Israel has eight universities and several dozen colleges. According to Webometrics, of the top ten universities in the Middle East, seven out of ten are in Israel, including the top four. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem is the only university in the Middle East ranked in the Webometrics premier top 200 of the world. Israel is the only country in the Middle East ( Also, Israel, out of all countries in the Middle East has the highest number of Yale University alumni.

Some of these indictors are very shaky, and who decides the scores? Israel has by far the stongest economy in the Middle East, it's the only true democracy in the Middle East (with the possible exception of Bahrain). |

Israel is not a failing country, in fact it is an enduring country.
The Crisis States Research Centre defines a “failed state” as a condition of “state collapse” – e.g. a state that can no longer perform its basic security and development functions and that has no effective control over its territory and borders. A failed state is one that can no longer reproduce the conditions for its own existence. This term is used in very contradictory ways in the policy community (for instance, there is a tendency to label a “poorly performing” state as “failed” – a tendency the Crisis States Research Centre rejects). The opposite of a “failed state” is an “enduring state” and the absolute dividing line between these two conditions is difficult to ascertain at the margins. Even in a failed state, some elements of the state, such as local state organisations, might continue to exist. |

The Philippines are great. I have been here for nearly three years.
This place isn't failing. They are making more deals with the rest of Asia though and America isn't real pleased about it. At the same time they reduce the aid they send.
There are millions of acres of rice land leased to China. That alone is substantial income.
There is oil and gas and gold and copper mostly untapped.
My point is you are either as misinformed about Israel as you are about the Philippines or you are making things up.
Again. |

Because peace is the missing link in the country.
Israel receive more than 20 billions $ each year from American taxpayers without their consent: 3.7B$ from the Congress Foreign Aid Program, 10B$ Free Loans Guarantee, and 6 to 10 B$ from USA Tax System Loophole as Charity money deducted from American JEWS Tax to be sent to Israeli illegal Settlements. |

Because the Nation was founded on a false notion & as has already been said , has been FIGHTING ever since !
If the foundations are weak it really doesn't matter how much money you pour into something , ultimately it will fall over !
It has been stated here that Israel is the only true democracy in the region , if that is true how come many of its' original inhabitants , those kicked out of their homes , are still rotting in refugee camps in neighbouring countries. How come when some maniac runs amok with a bulldozer the automatic reaction is " well we will bulldoze the homes of arab citizens of Jerusalem so that they will all understand the consequences ?"
No , sorry ....these are not the signs of democracy but rather of a dictatorship where apartheid is alive & well ! |
