Hmmmm....I wonder what the sources are for many of the answers here? Seems to be a lot of guesswork going on!
Well, I lived in a Palestinian village for a couple of years that is 2/3's Christian, 1/3 Muslim so I'd like to address some of the issues brought up here. First of all, it's clear that the Christian and Muslims get along very well there and many were close and dear friends of each other. However, when it comes to employment, each religious group usually hires their own.
Since the Christian Palestinian population is sadly down to under 2% it makes it very difficult for them to get employment. Therefore, many have emigrated. Most have relatives abroad, and because of their beliefs and traditions, they can assimilate more easily into western cultures.
As far as the state of Israel, most are in support of a two-state solution OR the whole region being Israel and everyone have full Israeli citizenship. This is NOT because they believe that Jews are God's chosen people and that this is their promised land. It is because they recognize that in 1948 the state of Israel was formed, and that Jews need a homeland as well. As far as everyone there having Israeli citizenship, it is because they are tired of the harsh and unfair treatment they have been receiving as an occupied land. They see all the rights and freedoms Israelis have and of course that is way better than the way they are treated now. |

Because they know the Israelis won't kill them for being christians. |

I think it's because they recognise that a Palestinian state would be run by Islamic parties and they would be relegated to Second-class citizens force to pay a tx to live in a Muslim country. Many Christian Palestinians have Israeli citizenship. |

All religious things aside (as in Bible and such) They would rather support Israelis than Arab Muslims any day. The Arabs would and do destroy them for not being Muslims. The Israelis would never.
Good questions. Anyway I am tired and off to bed. Goodnight =] |

Christian Palestinians are no different in their beliefs than Christian Americans or Christian Canadians or Christian plumbers. They support Israel because the God of the Holy Bible supports Israel. God blesses those who bless Israel and curses those who curse Israel. The Christian Palestinians realize this. |

No they don't, what is your proof? |

to love is to live

Well, I can tell you why many Christians in general support Israel. It's because the Bible says that Israel is God's chosen land. |

Daoud Mikhail was a founder of the Palestine Liberation Organization. He was a Christian! |

Originally they did not, it was only after being discriminated against by Muslim Palestinians, such as Muslims constantly occupying and shooting at ancient churches thus seeking Israeli soldiers for protection that they have suddenly become pro Israel.
There are still plenty of Palestinian Christians who are anti Israel though, such as Fatah use to have many Christians though not as many as before. |

Whoo!

Many don't. They're are few that actually do. |

I dont beleive thats true of Christian Palestinians or
Christian lebanese for that matter.
I beleive you are mistaken, christians and muslims of the Palestinian people get along remarkably well beleive it or not and they are united as a people despite how Israel tries to exploit
the differences.
Quote of christian Palestinian: "He told the thousands of supporters that, "My guilt is that I love my homeland.."
Like i said Christian Palestinians are very much supportive of their homeland and are equals to their Muslim counterparts. |

I think it is wonderful that the Palestinians support Israel and vice versa. I am not sure why, but does it really matter why? |

It is power game & not of morality, principle & good characters. Arabs are weak, so , obviously, they support Israel(the rogue state) to save their skin & ensure their survival. |

because they believe the bible tells them the Jews are supposed to live in that land. I find it hard to believe that Jesus would approve of how the land was taken, especially considering the United Nations stance against Israel's treatment of the Palestinians.
Mostly I believe the Christians that support Israel are totally in the dark about what is really going on in that part of the world. They only believe what they see on the American news. |

Don’t you remember how the Israeli solders kill the high priest of the church of nativity in April 2002, don’t you remember when the Israeli solders kill the nativity church bill ringer.
I am from Bethlehem city, I lived between Christians… and I know so many Christians hates Israel, I know how they are suffering, do you know how many Christians killed by Israelis? Do you know how many churches the Israelis have damaged… Go to Bethlehem university website and see yourself how they destroy the church of the university…
Go to the west aria of Bet Jala, it is part of Bethlehem, living there only christens, I challenge you if you will find a single home didn’t get a shoot from the Israeli solders protecting gelo.
in fact I know many religious Christians hate the Jews in general not only the Israelis because they believe that Jews killed Jesus. |
