It has a lot to do with ignorance.
In the fast paced world we live in today, a lot of people are so busy climbing up at the cost of each other that they take advantage of kindness and often recognize it as a weakness/stupidity as they would never be "kind".
I feel it has a lot to do with upbringing and showing a child that kindness is a voluntary human behavior and it should not be mistaken or taken advantage of. If you bring up a child into adulthood recognizing this for what it is - then they will hopefully pass on the message and have the ability to distinguish between weakness/stupidity vs. strength/wisdom. |

In a lot of situations, kindness is a necessity, I mean we choose to be kind because we can't fight or be less kind. Our inner mind knows that that is the best course of action.
This type of kindness is not really treasured.
Kindness that has no ambition of a future gain is the one that should be treasured. Being kind to someone you will never see again or someone who does not have the means of defense is what really captures it's essence.

I think it's people attitude that made this association very true, it's very difficult to find someone strong and wise at the same time without not becoming arrogant and rude.
also weak and stupid people don't have much choices than becoming kind and wise.
if many strong people just start to act wise and kind, I think this association will become history. |

well I think kindness never changes its quality. it might appear that it's weak or stupid, as you say, but truly it is always strong and always wise, nomatter one. it's the kind ones that get really rewarded in the end, trust me : ) |
