I understand what you are saying, but you seem to have a basic misunderstanding.

First, there is no state called Palestine. In fact, the area that once was known as Palestine was never a sovereign state.

Second, whether or not you wish to call Hamas terrorists, they are first of all terrorists who murder innocent Israeli citizens. And they never stop trying to kill more, particularly by convincing the simple Muslims to kill themselves in the effort!

When the UN originally decided to give Israel a small remnant of their original homeland, they realized that they needed a place for the Arabs that lived in there.

So they already did that. They established Jordan (then called Transjordan) for exactly this purpose in 1922.

Incidentally, they gave them the biggest chunk of land, with the best farmland, the most water, etc.

Israel (as we know it today) at that time was mostly malarial swamplands and swamps.

So, what happened next is that the Arabs started attacking the Jews, even though the Jews were more than happy to live with the Arabs. In Jordan, the Palestinians became such an annoyance (that's an understatement) that Jordan basically kicked them all out (as Lebanon now wants to do, by the way).

Israel started draining the swamps and turning them into good farmland, and rebuilding in the slums, and turning Israel into an economic powerhouse. This caused a huge migration from many Arab countries into Israel, for jobs.

Most of those now calling themselves Palestinians are from these immigration waves. Yet the world pretends that any Arab who moves into the area is a descendant of antiquity, and it's just nonsense. Very few of the "Palestinians" living there, are related to any Arabs who were living there when the Jews were brought back to Israel. Most of these Arabs are immigrants, or second generation immigrants. You never ever hear this. They're always assumed to be natives, and Israel the invaders.

Fast forward to the present, and everyone pretends that Jordan has nothing to do with the setting aside land for the Arabs under the original deal.

Also interesting, is that in all the negotiations, the Palestinians insist that all Jews leave their land. Look at how Israel had to forcibly relocate all the Jews when they turned Gaza over to the Palestinians, and at the same time encouraging radical Islamist terror.

Yet the Israelis have never stopped Palestinians from living anywhere, and there are even Palestinians in the Israeli Knesset (Parliament) and in the government in key positions.

I'm pointing this out because our left-wing media – and the anti-Semitic world in general – very conveniently ignore these facts, to make it appear that the Israelis are always the bad guys.

Also remember, that Hamas and Hisb'Allah do not recognize Israel's right even to exist, period.

How can you demand someone negotiate with someone whose basic stance is that they want all of you dead, regardless of what you do? It's just absurd.

Yes, not all "Palestinians" are like this, but a majority of them feel this way, as is evidenced by the fact that Hamas won so many seats in the election, and polls continually show that 80 percent of the Gazans support Hamas in their terror attacks.

It is also a fact that the Arabs and "Palestinians" have repeatedly attacked Israel, LONG before any of the excuses they now use for their terrorist attacks against Israel ever happened.

There never was an independent Palestinian nation, before modern Israel, Palestine was just a province of the Ottoman empire that later went under british mandate. However there was an Israel in the past, the ancient kingdom of Israel (we have mount massada, the dead sea scrolls, and radiocarbon dating to prove it.)

Also the Arabs have plenty of land to go to in neighboring countries like Syria or Jordan but the Jews have no land of their own and need a nation in case of another Holocaust.

The Palestinian authority have encountered conflicts upon themselves when given land and their lack of unity may make them incapable of forming a stable government.

The US needs an ally in the middle east.

The Palestinian authority has had a history of embezalling funds and could pose the risk of being a massive scam to misappropriate money funded for a palestinian state for personal use.

The Truman doctrine states that the US must aid, protect, and assist all countries that choose to be democratic and Israel is democratic, the Palestinian Authority is not.

Spoiler countries like Iran and Syria could intervene into the young Palestinian government and bring instability like in Lebanon.

The United Nations (our world government) gave the land to Jewish displaced persons/refugees in 1948.

There was not much choice. When the Jews tried to return to their homes in Europe (Germany, Poland, Romania, etc) they were murdered by the locals who had taken over the Jews homes and property.

No nation would take the Jews so they were given a few square miles in the desert to live. The other Arabs told the Palestinians to leave the area so they could "drive the Jews into the ocean."

When the Jews kicked all the Arabs asses, they were naturally picky about letting sworn enemies back into the bit of desert that was now the Jewish homeland.

In 1948 the Palestinians picked the wrong side in a war and are now living with their bad choice.

well the bible facts you can find on the whole bible, God promised that land to abraham, and abraham went to live there when it was a desert and nobody was living there, so he started building his world there. his sons lived there, until iosef took all his family to egipt to live for some years because of the famine that was there.

iosef died so his sons and descendants start being slaves and they cant go back, finally moses comes up, takes them off egypt, leads them to israel, they take off the canaanites that got in there while they were on egypt, on the command of iehoshua the sucesor of moses after 14 years of war.

the persians come and takes them captive to babilon, for 70 years until ezra hasofer comes and takes them back and builds the second temple, whose walls stood up untill today.
the romans conquers israel, and try to live together by sudjuging the jews, untill they get bored and kill the jews and the survivors scaped to live somewhere else.
since then, there is always jewish people living there, hiding and on small comunities, untill 1988 aprox, where more jews started going to start the country again, and on 1948 the UN and the british government decide to give that land to the jews, so they move on big amounts there.

also, israel is on all the jewish profecies of redemption, all the sacred sites for the jews are on israel, while the coran doesnt mention israel, neither to be an important place to the muslims, and neither as a prophecy.

and palestine, has never been a state, all those people came to claim the land after it was suceding before, when it was a desert nobody complained.

Hi,you already had a couple of good answers tho' most were biased towards Palestine.. Israel countless times have wanted to give them a state but hamas/hizbella won't accept it.They want not only Jews out of the mid-east but Christians all non-muslims!!

So,the terrorists send rockets or suicide bombers into Israel killing innocent women/children..

No-one mentioned that Spherdic Jews lived side by side when the land was called Palestine..My maternal g/p's lived there as their parents ect..

You ask a good question, but you seem to be a bit confused.

Israel has the land, except for some parts of Judea and Samaria, which are being occupied by the Palestinian Authority.

There has never been a sovereign Palestinian state. In fact, Palestine was what is now called Israel.

So the answer to your question is that the areas of Judea and Samaria now occupied by the PA should be returned to their rightful owners -- the Jewish people -- the State of Israel.

To make easy on you.
Israel is the last colonial rule in the world yet to be solved.
The native people of the land are called the Palestinians and the colonist are called the Israeli Zionists.
The native are waging war of independence for the last 80 years.
There is peace proposal to solve the conflict as we speak to create a 2 viable states for both the native and the colonists.
If you study the conflict without its colonial roots you will not get any empirical conclusions.
.

Make this hypostasis to see what I am talking about.
Without the colonialism era Israel could not existed..

Duke of Tudor
Actually, there should have been a Palestinian Arab State since 1948 had the Arab government accepted the 1947 UN Partition of British Palestine (present-day Jordan, Israel, West Bank and Gaza Strip) instead of attacking the fledgling Israel in 1948.

What kind of school are you going to? They want you to do a project on why over a million Palestinians should be kicked off of their land and it should be given to Israel? First of all that will never happen. Right now Israel is occupying more land then what the UN partitioned to them in 1948. The occupation of the Gaza strip and the West Bank is an illegal one under international law. No matter what anyone else is saying about why it should become part of Israel it is still ILLEGAL. That land was not given to Israel by the UN and there is not one single reason anyone can give you about why they should get it.
So maybe you can change the subject of your project to make it about why Isreal should not get the land that belongs to the Palestinian people, that would be an easier and more honest project to do. Here are some reasons:
- The land that is known as Palestine was not partitioned to Israel by the UN and therefore they have no right to take it.
- It would be illegal for Israel to attempt to take it
- Taking it would cause Israel problems with the international community.
- There would be more violence then there already is
- Where would the Palestinians living there go? And don't be so naive to think that they can go to another Arab country because those countries will not allow them to come and they should not be forced to leave their homeland anyway.
- There is absolutly no talk with other countries who are trying to solve the problem about Israel taking all the land.
- Whatever people are saying about the bible it is not a historical document it is religious document and one that many people do not adhere to or give any significants to there is no proof that even one word in that book is true.

Yes I know that but they will go back to occupying it in 3 days or 3 weeks or 3 months anyway its always temporary and then it will be illegal again.

reason why they shouldnt becuase its not rightfully theres, zionist scum are devil worshippers, tehy sacrfic babies for crying out loud. they rape and murder palistining women.
arab land for thousands of years... muslim holy land, and its surrounded by arab and muslim countries.

and who ever tries to use the idea that ibrahim was jewish dont, because we muslim believe in ibrahim he is our prophet also, we are decendents of him so then its our land. ibrahim was muslim.. to be muslim is to submit yourself to one god teh will of god and that is what ibrahim did so he was muslim :P

SARA ** HONEY EYES **
the answer 2 ur question is very simple
Both parties consider Jerusalem as a precious holy site. They both have rights, ex. Jews consider Jerusalem as the holiest land on earth. Muslims consider it too holy because of al aqsa mosque and the journey of the prophet to Jerusalem.
Long story short , is that both wants it and both deserves it and non of them want the other 2 rule the land

Are you sure you understand your assignment? Perhaps you ought to type it in word for word, because as written your question makes little sense.

There is no Palestine to occupy or not occupy land. There are disputed territories generally considered to be Palestinian Arab land that Israel does not want to receive, but to hand over to a sovereign Palestinian state that has yet to come into existence. Israel does not want the West Bank or Gaza, and should not have it.

Troy B
There is no reason why. The most powerful army just take.

israel does not want to receive any land that arab palestinians now occupy.

israel just wants to stay in israel and be free of attacks.

israel has done nothing but give back land to arabs for the last 40 years.

the palestinians want israel, but israel does not want gaza or the west bank, they just want to live in peace.

After living for 17 years in the Middle East, I feel that the Palestinians have, by far, a superior claim to the land. To support this, allow me to analize the following arguments used (by both sides).

1. Religious.
While the fight is about land, no one can deny that religion is a part of it. Many Jews claim that they have a historical/biblical right to the land, as well as the city of Jeruselam. Ironicaly, only a slim percentage of professing Jews claim to be religious, and the majority of that percentage is made up of converts, and the majority of those don't even live in Palestine. The Palestinians, however, are practicing Mulims and Christians, with claims to such sights as the Dome of the Rock and Church of the Nativity (in addition to other Christian holy sights in Jeruselam such as the Holy Sepulcher). If the land were to be awarded on a religious basis, then the Palestinians would win easily.

2. Ethnic.
Some would claim that the Israelies have a claim to the land due to their Semetism. This argument is seriously flawed. The vast majority of Israelies are immigrants who have been living in Europe for the past two millenia. Over time, intermarrige would've weakened the Semetic genes to the point where European Jews are, geneticaly, more European than Semetic. On the other hand, the Palestinians are completely Semetic.

3. Historical
The historical claim is a tie, at best. The Israelies, who are largely immigrants from Europe have as many ties to Europe as they do Palestine. The same is true about the Palestinians who have been living in the area for millenias. History isn't the best way to fairly decide who has a better claim.

4. Legal
Many claim that Israelies have a claim to Palestine because it was created for them by the British. Again, this is a flawed argument, since the Palestinians were never consulted. While it is true that some (and only some) Palestinians sold land to immigrating Jews, the majority of Palestinian land has been forcefuly seized by Israel (take Deir Yassin for example). Legally, Palestinians have a much stronger claim to Palestine.

5. Conquest
There are also some who claim that Israelies deserve Palestine by right of conquest, but if this were true, then one could effectively claim that the majority of Western Europe belongs to Germany, which conquered it in WWII. Additionaly, it could be claimed that China deserves Tibet, despite Tibet's insistence that they deserve independence. Let's face it- might does not make right, and on this basis, the land should go to Palestinians.

6. Technological/Agricultural
Some claim that before the Israelies came, Palestine was rugged, unused, and undeveloped, and that the Israelies, who did develop the land, deserve it more than the Palestinians, who lazily did nothing. This is again, a flawed argument. While it is true that Palestine was largely undeveloped, this was not the fault of the Palestinians. The Ottoman Turks, have forced a Feudal System on the Arabs, prevented them from ever having access to modern tools, or having the ability to work large peices of land. The British were more concerned with controlling Palestine than developing it and because of these factors, Palestinians simply could not develop their land. Since it logicaly follows that, if the Palestinians had a choice between developing their land or leaving it fallow, would've chosen to develop it, then it is the Palestinians, not the Israelies, who have a better claim.

7. Democratic
Perhaps the most often used argument is that Israel is the only Democracy in the Middle East. However, the definition of "Democracy" is a government by the majority of the people. Since the majority of people living in Palestine are Palestinians (outnumbering the Israelies nearly 10 to 1), it would seem that there would be a Palestinian government- not an Israeli one. By the very definition, Israel is not a Democracy, since the majority does not have a say in the government. Some would argue that Israel has welcomed Palestinians to become Israelies, but again, this argument is flawed. Israel is aware that due to the Palestinian perception of honor, Palestinians will generaly refuse to become Israelies. Israel's encouragement is purely for the sake of appearing Democratic. If the Palestinians actualy did all become Israelies, they could literaly vote the government away from the Jewish-Israeli minority.
Furthermore, Israel, despite its constant denials, orders actions and legislates laws that are highly Un-Democratic. Israel uses an angency called the Shin Bet as strikebreakers, torturers, and intimidators. It is also against Israelie law to own, use, or wear a Palestinain flag or any reproduction of a Palestinian flag.
In short, Israel is NOT a Democracy and so no one can use the argument that a Democratic state takes precedent over a people group who may or may not form a Democratic state.

In conclusion, Israel should get the land because....
Well, when it comes down to it, there isn't a whole lot of reason why Israel should get the land...

Other from the Biblical statements of giving the land to Israelis, there is no reason for that. But the Bible is full of ****.

Well The reason why Europeans put the Jews in Palestine is because of in Christianity it states when the jews are extinct Jesus will return. Believing this they placed them in Palestine knowing there will be continuing conflict. Also it should not be Israel. The Jews left the land believing Europe was a region of opportunity. Muslims came in and settled in an open region. A small group of Zionist remained there settled in with NO conflict. Then the UN placed the refugees and granted 55% of the land to jews in which they only need 20% of the land. Like I said before this is not an opinion this is all fatual. Europeans are the ones to blame for Palestines problem called Jews. Europe was not against Hitler for the extinction of Jews because they beleived it would bring Jesus back. With Hitler defeated they had to go to plan B and place the jews in Palestine. I will go out and gaurantee this if USA never helped the Jews 9/11 would of not occured.
