What do you want them to say? Israel was created Peacefully and no harm was done to the native people of Palestine. They know what they did to the native people and they know that the Palestinian Jews were small minority and most have left the country after the Israeli colonization.

Jews have lived in 'Palestine' for centuries...long before there were Arabs in the Area. The Jews conquered Palestine, killing all the folks who lived there.
The Assyrians, Babylonians and finally the Romans drove most of the the Jews out of the area and they found new homes in other countries.
In the early 20th century,Jews started to return by the thousands, most of them bought land from the Arabs who were planted there by Muslim conquerors.. The returning Jews developed the land and In 1948, they declared their independence.
It's incorrect to say that Jews colonized Palestinians. The British, french and Spanish were known to be colonizers of conquered territories but not Jews.

They have all these King Arthur type fantasies about a magical Kingdom of Israel that obviously never existed; unlike Anglo-Saxons they are not able to accept that much of their "history" is mythology. So they don't see themselves as neo-colonialists; they think they have returned to their ancient ancestral home.

There is a difference between colonization and immigration. I think you mean that many Jews have immigrated to Israel.
Look at history, though. "Palestine" has existed as a general geographic region since Roman times; the Romans named it after the Philistines, who were of Hellenic origin, neither Arab nor Jewish. But there has never been a Palestinian state, unless you count Jordan, which I guess you can't because it isn't named Palestine.

In around 1025 BCE, under extreme threat from foreign peoples, the tribes united to form the united Kingdom of Israel. Samuel anointed Saul ben Kish from the tribe of Benjamin as their first king in c. 1020 BCE, but it was his successor, David who in c.1006 BCE created a strong unified Israelite monarchy.

David, the second (or third, if Ish-bosheth is counted) King of Israel, established Jerusalem as its national capital 3,000 years ago. Before then, Hebron had been the capital of David's Judah and Mahanaim of Ish-bosheth's Israel, and before that Gibeah had been the capital of the United Monarchy under Saul.

David succeeded in truly unifying the Israelite tribes, and set up a monarchical government. He embarked on successful military campaigns against Israel's enemies, and defeated bitter foes such as the Philistines, thus creating secure borders for Israel. Under King David, Israel grew into a regional power. Under the House of David, the united Kingdom of Israel achieved prosperity and superiority over its neighbours.

In c. 930 BCE the country split into two kingdoms: Israel (including the cities of Shechem and Samaria) in the north and Judah (containing Jerusalem) in the south. Most of the non-Israelite provinces fell away.

They have not only colonized it, they have made milk and honey from a land that was desert and swamps. Now that they are the majority, the word "colonize" is not relevant.

I'm sorry, but the country with the strongest military still gets to dictate the terms in our reality. Yes, Israel is taking advantage of this by annexing more land and building settlements. But that is how the world works currently. I'm not saying it is right, but we do not live in a utopia where we treat others the way we want to be treated, yet.

Israelis are well aware that most of their great-grandparents were born outside of Israel. Before 1948, they bought land and settled there, with the hope of establishing a homeland there, as a haven for themselves, and not to be a colony of some other country. The problem was that the Arabs thought that they still owned the land they sold, and they attacked them. It was that famous Arab hospitality at work, expressed concisely and frequently with the pithy phrase "Itbah al Yahud", and practiced often.

The question posed here has the same peculiar insinuation that if you you come from a distant place and buy land, you have no right to live on that land, because the "indigenous people" have some magical inalienable right that does not end with sale, and that buying land is somehow inherently evil (this can be proved conclusively by uttering the Chomskian incantation, "neocolonialism").

In 1948, the "indigenous people" and the surrounding states launched what they righteously called a war of annihilation against the Jews (more hospitality, three years after Hitler's successful war against the Jews - how can you match that for human empathy?)

Well, when you try to kill someone, the rules of the game change. You put your own property in the game. You attacked someone with a knife and lost, and now you complain that he stole your knife, and demand it back, and swear to kill him, and portray yourself as the victim.

The Arabs started the violence. This is the crux of the conflict, and it's something that pro-Palestinian advocates simply can't face, much less address forthrightly.

Palestinian Jews had already been living there for over 3000 years. That is, when Arab and Muslim mobs in the 1920s weren't trying to massacre them and force them out of Jerusalem just as they forced them out of Hebron.

And by YOUR 'logic', that means that the millions and millions of Muslims currently living as citizens in Europe, should be chucked out - after all, they 'came from other countries'.....

Get a history book. Jews have been in that area since the beginning. They have always been there. More came after WW2 for obvious reasons and Israel and other countries like Jordan were made.

Because Israel is indigenous to the region. When modern nations form it is the discretion of the nation who they let into their borders and they open up the borders to all Jewish people who were previously kicked out of the region due to war. That is not a colonization that has a foreign rule over an indigenous people, that is just a modern nation doing what it needs to so to make a home for its people to survive. Israel is a sovereign nation.

I am going to say point blank: You don't care about Palestinian people because the Arab Muslims that are Israeli are treated extraordinarily nice under Jewish rule. They vote, they have jobs, they go home to their families, it is all cool.

If you cared so much about the Palestinian people you would not keep making false claims about Israel and promote this war. It is only because of the hostility that this continues and the Palestinians themselves could also have a good life.

The Palestinian people are stuck in the middle of a greater war against Israel and you are playing both Israel and Palestinian people as pawns in your own specific cause. So you do not support either the Palestinian people OR Israel. You are an atheist aren't you, because I never see you say anything religious at all.

Because, firstly, this is NOT a travel question.

Secondly, Israel is a NATION, not a colony. They OWN that property, just as any homeowner OWNS their home and the land under it.

Thirdly, Palestine was NEVER country, and there wasn't even a "PALESTINIAN" people until after the NATION of Israel was founded. In fact, the people there had no real interest in their land until the Jewish people who returned there (not referring to the Jewish people who have lived there for over 2000 years, as there are many of them, as well) and worked their a**** off to take a teeny tiny piece of malarial swampland, and turn it into a paradise. They were attacked the day they became a nation, and in that war, they won an equally undesirable piece of desert, which they have broken their backs to turn into a land of produce. So, If you ask me...they EARNED the land they live on. The so-called "Palestinians" did absolutely nothing with that land for the two thousand years they lived there, and if they were to get it back, I'm sure that the land would shortly return to being wasteland.

But to return to the original question...how can a NATION be colony? And how can you COLONIZE property and people that don't OWN the property?

No,I don't know or believe most Israelis came from other countries!!!!!There have been Jews living in there for thousands of years what the Romans called Palestine.Those Jews were known as Palestine Jews...

The Jewish people from European & other countries that made aliyah bought the land legally from Arabs & did NOT steal the land as the Arabs falsely claim.. My mom & her ancestors have lived there for generations so stop with the propaganda already! The moment Israel became a recognized country Again the Muslims started many wars against Israel & we won everyone! What other country that won 'defensive' wars fair & square gives land back to the aggressors??
None..Sure is a double standard when it comes to Israel,the Jewish homeland. The capital of Israel is Jerusalem,always has been yet most countries refuse to acknowlege this fact wrongly saying the capital is Tel Aviv..

No-one speaks about the thousands of Jews that lived in Arab countries & thrown out with ONLY the clothes on their back..They don't cry victim as most Arabs do but have made Israel a thriving country..The only parlimentary democracy in the mid-east..

Israels a tiny state yet most Muslims refuse to acknowlege Israels existance & wish to throw ALL Jews imto the sea.Ain't happening ever.Then the Christians all what they call infidals including the few Muslims that want to live in peace.Most of these so called Palestinians are Jordanians & they don't want to accept those radical Islamists either as their trouble makers.This includes Egypt as well..
