Why the Israelis hate olive trees?

I don't think Israel has any problem with olive trees per se, but they have uprooted thousands of olive trees that belonged to Palestinians. Some times it has been because the land was confiscated for use by settlers, bypass roads, or the dividing wall. Other times it is to literally cut the livelihood of the Palestinians.

I know Palestinians who have had their olive trees cut down by settlers who came down from their hilltops at night and under the cover of darkness, destroyed them. I've also seen swaths of land flattened that used to have beautiful olive tree groves. It was no where near settlements nor bypass roads nor the wall so seems again, to oppress the Palestinians.

There are also settlers who have harassed and beaten the Palestinians while trying to pick their olives, again as a way to cut off the livelihood to force them out.

It's really sad because these trees are ancient and suddenly gone in a minute. Also, it takes years for a new tree to bear fruit.

Edit: MICHAEL J - I know Palestinians who have had their trees chopped down and I can assure you not one of them have received a cent (or shekel) in compensation. I also have never heard of Palestinians cutting down their own trees for compensation! This makes no sense because the olives provide income year after year whereas any compensation would be a one-time thing. Where on earth did you hear this? I think I'll start using the response of "propaganda" that so many on this forum like to use!

They don't hate them but the Israeli government just likes to cut down olive trees belonging to Palestinians to oppress them.

I have actual seen this with my own two eyes and yes, this is the truth.

I don't think they hate them. I suspect they clear them to either clear areas for Jewish colonists or to harm Palestian growers.

They love thier olive trees but hate the palestinian trees. For them, the Palestinian trees are terrorists. Believe me, that is what they say. They say that the terrorists hide behind the trees and that is why they have to cut them down. They don't think that those trees my be the living source for families, they don't think that those trees have a great importance to the Palestinians, they simply cut them and justify this barbaric reaction by a trivial reason.

That is a good question - why doesn't the video explain the Israeli position? But that doesn't answer the question - why are Israelis cutting down the trees in the video. Lets see if we can find that out. I have views this video several times and what I can tell you is that the Israelis never did hate olive trees however the Israelis certainly do love to eat olives.

The Palestians hate that the Israelis enjoy the olives very much.

Didn't both watching the video as I don't credit YouTube on principle, but one should diffrentiate between actions of the Israeli government and actions of the settlers.
With regards the government, the only trees uprooted are those neccessarily removed for the sake of construction, be it the fence or a road. As a rule the tree is removed including its root system, and the owner has the right to claim the tree and replant it in a place that is out of the way. They aren't just chucked into a wood-chipper and thrown away! However, when it comes to neccessary infrastructure or national security, the placement of trees comes in second place.
There have been claims against Israeli settlers chopping down olive trees, some of which have been substantiated and some not. As a rule once again, the Israeli government recompensates the owner of the destroyed trees. This has the perhaps expected consequence of fraud, where Palestinians have been known to assault their own trees for an immediate payout rather than worrying about caretaking and harvesting. It is unclear how many reported cases are fraud verses actual assault, but either way it is clear that the Israeli government does not treat the trees with the disdain you attribute them.
