You might consider using a program such as Rosetta Stone before you go. Try their website. I think they still offer a free demo with around 20 lessons in conversational Arabic for free. It's pretty cool because it is designed to teach you by association, like you learn when you are child. You see a picture and hear the name of the object or a simple phrase that is an obvious description of the scene. They have the program for many languages, including Hebrew as well.

Sure, you can take classes and learn Arabic. You might check into Ulpan Akiva in Netanya. They teach several languages, including Arabic and Hebrew, and have won awards for their program. Netanya is said to be a pleasant small seaside town. There are other programs as well.

Yes, all universities offer courses in Arabic (including all overseas programs, as far as I know) there are also some private courses.
You might want to check out Ulpan Akiva in Jerusalem.
Where are you planning on learning Hebrew, that place might also offer Arabic.

Why wait till you get there? It might be too overwhelming.
