I thought that this city was under Palestinian Authority/Hamas control. What did I miss? I know that Israel had occupied it in 2002 in order to stop suicide bombers from entering Jerusalem, but I didn't know they were making a bid to permanently settle it. It wouldn't surprise me though. I hope your family is not going through much hardship and will be able to return to their home eventually. |

Total figment of your imagination.
There are no settlers in Bethlehem. I don't understand why these Arabs make up such farfetched stories and expect intelligent people to believe them.
But what IS TRUE is that many Christians have left Bethlehem.
The terrorist "government" of Gaza marked the Christmas season by passing a Shari'a criminal code for the Palestinian Authority. Among other things, it legalizes crucifixion.
Hamas's endorsement of nailing enemies of Islam to crosses came at the same time it renewed its jihad. Here, too, Hamas wanted to make sure that Christians didn't feel neglected as its fighters launched missiles at Jewish day care centers and schools. So on the day before Christmas, Hamas lobbed a mortar shell at the Erez crossing point into Israel just as a group of Gazan Christians were standing on line waiting to travel to Bethlehem for Christmas.
Hannah Qumsieh, of Bethlehem, spends his days playing online poker, fretting about unpaid bills and trimming his lemon trees at his house overlooking the field where the Bible says an angel told shepherds of the birth of Jesus. Qumsieh retired from the Palestinian tourism office last year, but has received no pension checks since the terrorist Hamas won elections a year ago and the West slashed aid to the Palestinian Authority.
"If I had money to leave, I would," he said, casting a glance at the newly built white-stone house next door in Beit Sahour, one of the last Christian-dominated enclaves in the West Bank. Bethlehem, just up the hill, is now less than 20 percent Christian.
That is the reality that the asker knows but refuses to write about.

As I know Bethlehem is under Palestinian Control.
Could it be that your relatives are Christians?
Because many Christians were threatened by Muslims and have to leave. |

I do not know your uncle and aunt, so it is difficult to discuss this particular case. I have, however, investigated more than two dozen similar sets of allegations and I have yet to find one where the Arab did not sell the land and house to a Jewish family and then deny the sale in order to keep the money and try to get the land/house back as well. I also investigated three where it turned out that the Arab never owned the house to begin with and was just looking to extort money from a Jewish immigrant to Israel. |

To answer your question, MMMMMMMMM sounds fishy to me.Jewish settlers do not live in Bethlehem, neither do Jewish people The big question should be when can the Jewish people go back to Bethlehem as it used to be a Jewish city taken over by Arabs????? |

Bethlehem is under the control of the Palestinian National Authority.
Travel into and out Bethlehem is strictly controled.
Movement of Bethlehem's Palestinian residents is regulated by a permit-system. Such permits have become increasingly hard to get since the al-Aqsa Intifada became violent.
Since the Intifada's onset, Bethlehem was periodically placed under strict curfews which prevent residents from leaving their homes.
Also, Palestinians are not allowed to enter the Jewish holy site of Rachel's Tomb, which is on the outskirts of the city, without a permit. Israeli citizens cannot go there without a permit from the Israeli military authorities either.
The construction of the West Bank barrier wall by Israel has had another severely negative impact on Bethlehem. The barrier runs along the northern side of the town's built-up area, within metres of houses in 'A'ida refugee camp on the one side, and the Jerusalem municipality on the other |

this isnt a question this is a chance to have a go at israel.
Go and speak with the relevant israeli government offices if you want some serious answers.
And what about all the thousands of jewish houses in Iran, Iraq, Jorden, Levanon, syria ( need i go on ?) that were taken over by the people of those countries. Or the jews that were forced out of their homes in their countries after centuries of being marginalized and persercuted ???
Israelis and jews are not perfect in their actions- but neither are arabs or muslims ... take a GOOD LOOK in your own history and how youve treated jews before you go complaining about your situation... |

Jewish settlers in Bethlehem? You must be new at this propaganda business. You have to be just a little more careful when you make up stuff.
Anyway, your uncle and aunt have my full sympathy. Maybe you can post a picture of them holding that very large key to their house (you know, the one everyone else uses).
Don't worry. Soon, the Palestinians will drive the Jews out of Bethlehem, where they've been killing, raping, and dispossessing Palestinians since 1948 blahblahblah |

My grandma had her house robbed too by them, 1948 was the year. I am sad to say that there is little they can do but they can go on with the law suit! I hope they get their home back! |

If that's so they shouldn't have been there to start with. If that's so. |

chances are they won't be allowed back.
the army, police force, IDF, etc. all favor the settlers.
so you can bet that they're not going back to bethlehem. |

Your uncle and aunt need to forget about their house until the Palestinian freedom fighting movements like Hamas, Islamic Jihad etc drive the jews out of Palestine, after which they can reclaim their house again. |
