Without war, how would the Jews regain the rest of their biblical homeland?

Back by popular demand, a new angle on my previous question that seemed to be a such a hit. This question is asked in response to the last answer given on the question, partially reproduced here. By "the rest" I mean the land not part of the original 1947 partition plan.

"If no wars had been launched against Israel, the mentality would have been 'some day' with regards the West Bank and other areas - patience and waiting for God's will to be done."
---Michael J

I can understand this way of thinking from a religious Jewish perspective. But I'm wondering, how would that be achieved, short of war?
Additional Details
Mr X- I'm not claiming that ALL Jews think this way. I'm responding to the thinking of a SEGMENT of the religious Jewish population, as expressed by these comments. I'm wondering what THESE PARTICULAR PEOPLE think about how that would occur. But thank you for bringing that up so that I could clarify.

Forgive my cut-and-paste, but this is (in MY opinion), the best answer:
No Torah faithful Jew in the 1900 years of our people's exile believed that we should seek to reclaim the land by military means. Instead, they believed that at the end of days, when the Creator chooses to redeem all mankind then all peoples will join in the worship of Him. This will not require the subjugation or dispossession of peoples. It will be a time of universal brotherhood with its spiritual in the Holy Land. Until then the Jewish people have a particular task in exile.

It can always be purchased.

The United States acquired the majority of its current territory by buying it from other nations.

After all that was the original reason why the Jewish National Fund was created was to buy land in the area for Jewish settlement.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jnf

I also do not see why that could not be done today. A buyout plan could be created that would allow many Palestinians to migrate to other nations in return for compensation. As well as selling any land they own

The bigger question is where could they go?

Edit
It dose not have to be everyone or all the land, even in biblical and classic times the Jews were not the only people living in the land. It simply has to be sufficient in order to create stability. At what level that is depends on a number of factors.

Edit2
Wow I suggest a non-violent way to allow the free-market and economics to decide who owns the land and who lives there and I get two straight thumbs down. I guess some of you guys like violence, go figure.

Last note
Thanks, but your right, I have no idea how many would interested or willing, but it dose not hurt to ask or try. After all it cannot make the situation worse. As for other Arab states in the region, again you are also right, but who knows what the Middle East will look like in 20 years. Iraq could be a stable democracy and an economic powerhouse, drawing people from all over. Israel and Syria could be a peace.

Or we could have a series of terrible wars. I do not know. What I do know is I far more prefer the former than the latter.

bgood26
Well, gee, if the Arabs didn't attack Israel in 1948, and in 1967, and 1973, and in 1982, and the 1990s, and since 2000, there wouldn't be a problem, now would there?

im sitting at my p.c. reading your question, im also looking out of my window at the olive fields and mountains of northern palestine, you expound a lot of theories most of them well thought out, and articulated, but its obvious you dont live here, i dont mean that facetiously, but like most non-residents, who view the problem here, via their t.v., or p.c. you display not a small amount of naievety. the problems are deep-seated, and many layered, both sides have have lost much, and there is no right way to solve this. war is evidently not the answer, and to think that war will resolve anything has been proved historically, where the holy land is concerned , not to be the case. most people here agree two states, each recognised, and acknowledged by the other is the way forward. the rights of the citizens, and the borders must also be respected by both sides.occupation, and illegal settlement, has to end, and both sides have to be completely committed to peace, with the radicals on both sides, controlled. and if this can only be achieved with war, what is the point? we are all thoroughly sick of it! because most of us have had to live with its real life day to day consequences.

We have seen in the last few days that voluntary resettlement is possible for the Gazans.

They have voluntarily relocated to the Sinai to get out of Gaza.

And not just a few Arabs, but **hundreds of thousands.**

In fact, this is the only solution to Israel's problem with the Arabs who wish to eliminate the Jewish state.

Thanks for asking this important question.

Israel would be happy living in Peace with the land she has. If no one had attacked Israel, she would still be on the land described in the 1947 UN partition plan.

Some day the Messiah can take care of the problem of the rest of the land.

ABC
Israel can never live in peace, war is the demand of the people not only the politicians, and historically they never lived in peace with their neighbors unless they are in a weak position, everybody has seen the Israeli kids writing hatred letters on the missiles before lunching it to kill the Lebanese children.
War is a way of life for them.
War is the oxygen they are breathing.
And if they gain the whole world still they will search for somebody to fight with.

Without war, Israeli territory would have been smaller than its current size, i.e., the same as the original 1947 partition plan. You know that Israel accepted the 1947 plan, while the Arab states did not. The Arabs even joined forces to wipe out the fledgling Jewish state back in 1948. They repeated their invasions in 1967 and 1973.

The Biblical Land of Israel was much larger in size than the State of Israel. The Biblical Land encompassed present-day Jordan and parts of other Middle Eastern countries, i.e., Syria, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Iraq and Egypt. Did Israel seek to conquer these countries to restore its Biblical territory? NO. Israel captured some territories because it was attacked first. But, Israel returned Sinai to Egypt following the peace treaty.

War is like a gamble, if you win, you take others' money. But, if you lose, you lose your money. Had the Arab states accepted the partition plan in peace, the State of Palestine must have come to existence long ago.

The Jews have always taken by force all the way through history. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Jew hater, but I understand what I read in the old testament of the bible.

There should be an Israel and a Palestine. Two-state solution. Both sides have to agree to this. The land of Gaza and the West Bank is to become a Palestinian homeland free of settlements with East Jerusalem as a capital and a fair land swap and building of houses for anyone who was displaced by the occupation and settlements. Palestinians will have to abandon compensation and the right of return for refugees into Israel though they may take some limited numbers in Palestine if they so desire. They will also have to accept the land swaps but Israel has no right to build settlements past the '67 border.

Why not just give Gaza back again. Give it to the Egyptians and tell them police your people or there will be war.

one person said that. how'd you go from one person to "the Jews"?

see, that's what you get when you generalize. you jump to erroneous conclusions. israel isn't expanding, that's absurd, israel has done nothing but give back land since 1968, over 40% of their land in fact. chillax.

now just stop the rocket fire from gaza and it'll all be good.

Whatever way in which G-d chooses:

a) Islamic self-destruction from imploded anger and bitterness and, as you yourself have described, "tribalization" to the extent that they can't make peace with an enemy even for the peace and security of their own's children future.

b) Islamic enlightenment and acceptance of diversity without a compromise of nationalism resulting in peace and understanding among all people that only G-d is master of the universe let alone this pitiful rock that everyone is trying to dominate.

Edit:
Aquaholic your religion is a tall shot of straight-up idolatry with a pagan twist on the side. The destruction of the temple and exile occurred almost two generations after Jesus was hanged----right around the time a half-blind, half-Roman had begun spreading his new religion.

Deuteronomy 11:16-17.

Please reflect on this.

"israel has done nothing but give back land since 1968, over 40% "

Now THAT is the most absurd thing I've ever heard.

Considering the slavishly pro-Israel media and anti-Islamic propaganda plaguing and brainwashing the minds of literally billions of people...Muslims are at a severe disadvantage. Propaganda is a deadly war tool. Can you see how many people despise Islam based on what the media has fed them? Can you see how ignorant people are about the religion and about current events? Misleading, exaggerated, and skewed information is portrayed, and so many people have accepted it as the bare truth. How sad. All people see are the bad about the Middle East, except for Israel, of course.

Israel is America's spouse.

Oh, if people really knew what goes on with the Israel/Palestine conflict...they would see the daily torture and abuse of the Palestinians. But the media will never allow this...America and Israel cannot afford to be exploited...but even if it was, would people care...? Has this propaganda permanently scarred their minds?

Interesting question! Enter a Christian point of view. Seems the Jewish beliefs, Muslims and Christians are closely related. Well we all agree that Abraham is the father of two nations, Ishmael the first Arab and Issiah? the first Hebrew. Same father but so was Adam to Cain and Able. I personally am not Arab or Jew but I am a descendant of Adam and Noah and realize the Christian New Testament has prophesied the problem between the half brothers of Abraham. We all agree on Jerusalem as being a sacred place. The Islamic Temple I believe rest where Davids Temple to God once stood. We have so much in common but there are so major differences! Israel is still looking forward to the Messiah and the Christians believe he has already fulfilled the promise to save sinful man. Israel has been celibrating his Passing Over them when he delivered them out of Egypt and cast judgement on the Egyptians who had enslaved them ever sence that moment thousands of years ago! Bear in mind Jesus was crucified on that sacred Jewish Holiday, when any such thing was totally taboo! At the same time Davids Temple door a 30' x 3' thick fabric door split from bottom to top and the sacred furnature inside the temple disapeared. Its obvious to Christians anyway that this is when things really started going south so to speak for Israel! It is our belief that Israel is under Divine discipline from God for not recognizing his uniquely born son. I don't personelly know all the events of Israel's history but didn't the Romans get controll of the land about then? The Jewish people have been persecuted severly more recently, by the Germans. Where Hitler wanted to exterminate the race and did herendous atrocities to them, which is evil no matter how you slice it! Time is ticking and we are in the intensive stage of the Anglic Conflict. Satan is working over time to alter history by trying to destroy the Jews and change Gods prophecy! Islam and the Jewish race I am so certain, are fullfilling the prophecy that says in the Christians New Testament that Israel will be attacked from all sides! Doesn't this sound fairly possible with Israel surrounded by their half brothers nations that have been at each other for centries! It is said that Jesus will return to avenge Israel at that time, because they are his people, even though they have not realized he is their Messiah. This is all shaping up and I write this so that you might open your mind to this as there is no eternal life by any other name than Jesus Christ! God our Father demands perfect rightousousness and man can not in any way deserve a relationship with him, we are sinfull no matter how good we are mit does not impress our creator! He has set the standard by which you must be saved and it is available to Jew and Gentile the same! Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved, believe not and you will not be saved but the wrath of God will abide on you!

Jas, I have studied Gods word probably longer than you have existed. I did not say when the Temple was destroyed, my comment was regarding the Temple fabric door that covered the Holy of Holies at the time just after Christ was nailed to the cross! I commented on the sacred furniture, the Ark of the Covenant to Israel which was and still is missing since that day! That furniture was constructed by Divine inspiration, made of Acaica wood covered with gold. The wood, represents the humanity of the Messiah whom would be himself an offering for all the sin of all man kind! The gold represents Diety, whose essence is omnipotence, omniscience, ominpresence, immutablity, veracity, perfect justice, perfect rightousness, perfect love and sovereignty. The wood and the gold together represent the unique person of the universe, God who in his plan had to become man and live among us born with out the sin nature and able to live with out sin to be judged in our place, so that through him by a simple acceptance through faith any man can be saved! This includes man since the time of Adam and all time! This plan does not depend on mans ability do do anything! Why would God be impressed with what his own creation can do? He created them! Man is sinfull by his own free will and that has been the problem since Adam! The old sin nature has been passed down because of Adam geniticly and we can do nothing to earn or deserve forgiveness from God! Religion is Satans ace truimp, religion says if I am good I will go to heaven or religion says if I give to the church this will impress God! Religion says if I do this or do that God will be pleased with me. You can't kill the the infidels and have a relationship with perfect God! God is not impressed with what you, me, all the people in this screwed up planet all together could do in the name of good! Who in the Hell do you think you are, you actually think you can impress God? If you have sinned once! and you have sinned thousands of times even if you don't know any better, you can not IMPRESS Gods perfect rightousness! His perfect justice demands perfect rightousness and you and I fall way short! You would do your self a favor and keep an open mind regarding Jesus Christ, for I have no doubt he is the Messiah, the perfect man who is God and the mediator between HOPELESS SINFUL MAN to have an eternal relationship with PERFECT GOD! His disciples would not change there belief in him as being the God-Man, even to there own death which should make you stop and think! He healed the lame, blind, sick, raised from the dead back to live, walked on water, turned water into wine, feed hundreds with a loaf of bread and a fish and other miracles to bring attention to his word. He was not self rightous (even though he had every right to be) and befriended any who wanted his help, no matter what their station in life was. This stands to reason if God provides a plan to save **** pot humanity, then he is a forgiving God! But it has to be on his terms and not mans! If you do not except his plan do you think he is going to except yours! All man kind will eventually say that Jesus Christ is Lord , but you best do so before leaving this world because it will be too late once your soul leaves this body! Or just keep on believing that you, you handsome or beautiful person who's does SO much good, will impress perfect God and he just can't wait to have an eternal relationship with you. You have now heard and are responsible for your decision

Another point I could make is look at the blessings that America has recieved since its time of conception! A nation whose founders believed in Christ and built the nation on that precept! Oh yea it is looking worse for ware now because the last generation has started to loose touch with what is important. We don't want to offend anyone even if they are wrong or offend us, we are politically correct now! Your right we are far from perfect but our fore fathers were point on! And so were the generations that followed, only the last couple of decades we have started to lose our way. 911 was God saying you need to wake up! Maybe we will, I hope so.

The land of "Israel" should be split in half. The northern half would be Palestine and the southern half Israel.

In the middle occupying Jerusalem would be the new U.N. HQ with a corridor that divides these lands from the Mediterranean to the Red Sea. Stationed there should be 300,000 man Rapid Reaction Force capable of delivering a serious smack down to ANYONE in the region that acts out of line.

This solution creates peace in the region and gets the U.N. out of New York .
