absolute 10

yes we may have troubles, but we can just give-up on hope in our country.

there were countries started with less established state-system and were able to survive harsh wars and decades of occupation, however they regained their state system again because they didn't lose their hope, their faith in their identity, in their place.
(read stories of: Malasyia - Indonesia - India - Mixco - Argentina - Iran - South Korea - Japan - China - Germany - i dont knwo what comes to my mind)

their army might be defeated yes, but their culture was not

yes i m frustrated honestly, but still believe we can be changed someway.

if someone wants to immigrate it is ok with too, i don't see him as someone who doesn't love his country, but s/he has to express his love in a different way: he has to be a better Egyptian, by upgrading his skills, quilify himself for more sophisticated tasks.. like trying to provide help for his egyptian fellows, supportive for them when they are in trouble, recommending them for work (if they are qualified of course) trying to benefit egyptians in any way.. the more stable egyptians in work and career the more the country will benefit from them on the economical level at least

the least is to raise his son/daughter in a healthy efficient educational system he may not be able to afford in Egypt. and at the same time raise his/her proud in himself as Egyptian. so we have a better Egyptian in the future. who might have the guts to do something.

Zewel as an example: he immigrated to US, and maybe someone would say he is giving benefit to the US only, but i think what he did, has caused a mind-shift in our society.. and ppl started to view scientist in different way, and ppl are aware that we dont lack minds, we lack planning and policies. Young youth are reading his books and trying to understand his life and how it started simple and ended large,, or actually still going on large. (inshallah)

you know that French Revolution started by this kind of mental shifts by changing peoples way of thinking about the pre-set social norms.
--------------------------------------...
there are things i worry about Egypt and i dont know why our government is not doing anything toward it or at least no adopting healthy media policy that connects it with the people so we can understand what is the next step:

1- corrupted education governmental system
2- how we will protect the Delta from the rising sea levels (Holland adopted the solution of gaint sea front dams)
3- how can we establish new settelments in the desert (like monkhafad katara, Sinai, Red sea caost)
4- how can we deal with alternative sources of energy specially as Oil reservoir is decreasing. (neculear plants, electrice cars,) i know these solutions are expensive but at least we have to start doing research and planning to establish long-term transfer into new sources of energy. and this will have positive effect to decreas the pollution of our cities skies... and also this transfer will be done by Egyptian engineers and scientist not forgieners. which will enhance the performance of engineering and science colleges and will increase the employment rate in these feilds
5- trying to establish regoinal economic relations that could lead to union of economy and constitiutio - in order to widen our resources and extend the zone of our national security (best countries [socially-culturally-economic similarity for this -from my own personal openeion] are Lybia - Sudan - Syria)
--------------------------------------...

finally you have to differ between tow things: Emotions and Feelings.
someone has emotions of love to his father, and at the same time he could feel annoyed by him in certain situations. but this irritated feeling doesnt mean he doesnt love his father. actually this feeling is initiated because of his love emotions.

the same goes for our country, if we didnt love our country we wouldnt feel annoyed "that much" by what goes on. as it doesnt touch our group-ego.

it is ok if we are frustrated, but this doesnt hinder our love.
we are frustrated because we want to change to the better, and this is a reflection of our emotions of love.
--------------------------------------...

@Peter A: as i told Aldonbon earlier: when we creticize the government action it is because the government is at service to the people not the opposite.

Poeple of Egypt are constant, while the government is "supposed" to be variable.

the problem we still perceive criticizing the government as criticizing our social-cultural identity which is not true.

but what i can say: when we criticize we have to define issues we are concerend about.. define an agenda we want to work with.. define what we want to change and why and how... and this way can cause a mental shift by stimulating our and others minds to think about their problems (beside expressing how they feel about it) so when someone disagree with us, s/he disagree with ideas not emotions. and thus we can continue our debate...

and through this way we can share a new agenda of change that could work as intiator for a change movement. even under the current system if we can change something it is ok, even if the system takes advantage of it polotically.. we should follow another policy instead of "All or Nothing" ... i dont want to detroy my country...

about the issue of sensorship: i think there is sensorship, but so what: what is said here is written in private newspaper and even in some gorvernmental newspaper. so dont worry.

Well i live in the UK i would give it an 8.

It is ok there are things that could be so much better but it is my home country so i have to like it as it has raised me for 19 years.

The country i love i would give a 10.

Egypt is very different from England people are far more friendly and respectable. Even with Egypt's problems is still a great country with great people.

can i remind you that i have no hate for my country... regardless of how many times i have been there.. i find that extremely ignorant of you to assume anything of how i feel about my country.. the quetions i asked about my won country were more or less questions i wanted to get a clear answer from.. of how people felt of pres. mubarak. and how people were actaully treated by governemt officials .. and yes accuarate first hand media has alot to do with my preconcived notions of what i think about the goverment and jsutice sytem in egypt.... and i do not care about the sensorship issue.. if you choose to ridicule me for my intrest in egypts government econonmy etc.. then choose not to answer the questions i ask.. but NEVER assume or come to the conclusion that i do not have love for my country... again.. i find you to be very ignorant... and i will not apologize for what was said.

and to be quite honest with you... i can not rate my country... i have not been there enough times.. or stayed long enough to give a rating that would be respectable..... i have not been to egypt in several years. and it is different with adult vision, and a different more mature mind set..

and @beautiful mind ...... these are the kind of answers i want.. and am looking for.. truthful answers..correct me if i am wrong.. but is there or is there not a sensor ship issue bannishing away those who speak against egyptian gov....? i am i right or not.?(rhetorical question of course.)

do u really think its the right thing to do is asking ppl how much they love their countries when it should of be over questioning ?
but since u said that this question is for only some ppl u named them, then i think they will look for a chances to rate it underscore lol.

i should give the highest
but i really think no one yet defined what he loves
is it the people the mountains the river the sea the government the opposition
it is sort of traitor who may choose the answer no or 1 or 2 or just leaves his country going to another without emotional to his mother land
oh i am sorry it is just thoughts but its a question which carries a lot of thoughts
