If I was IN the wedding, I wouldn't wear one unless the bride wanted me to wear one. If I was a guest at the wedding, I might wear one if the mood strikes me and it looks good with my outfit and the wedding is an afternoon affair.

For women it's acceptable....especially if its an outdoor wedding and the hat is in good taste (no baseball caps, etc.)

However, you said "IN" a wedding....if you are in the wedding, I wouldn't wear anything outside of what the bride/groom picked out for you to wear.

nah, but here in tennessee I've been to quite a few weddings where people have worn cowboy hats. I would never wear one though!!

i wont wera a hat to a wedding simply because they dont suit me.... only caps (sport ones) suit me... wheras hats (formal kinds) might suit your mum.. therefore there is no problem with it..

It depends on the wedding and on the place it takes place.
I love hats, in spite of I dont use them.
But in open air and sunny day wedding a nice "cappelina" can fit great.
I love them, above all, bcoz you can show only a shadow of your face under them.
In other words....you can see without be seeing !!!

Well I think it depends on what your wearing with it.
I'm thinking if it was a dressy hat, that worked real well with the outfit then it would be cute. I mean after all hats are part of clothing...
