im catholic and i would never marry outside of my religion as marriage is a sacrement inside the catholic church. I will never have a divided family. A family that prays together stays together

Aussie

No ....and I didn't !

I have mixed religions in my family tree ....on the surface it all seems ok but the complications come with children & how to bring them up.

In our society , that is not seen as a problem because we have been fed a diet of anything is acceptable ! That is the way of man but not of God !

I don't believe all paths lead to God & consequently , have made a deliberate choice to follow the teachings of scripture & trust God !

Itay, one of your old answers said your mother was Lebanese. Kind of a liar, aren't you? You're not so tough when your past comes back to get you, are you?

Yes,if i get the blessing from my dad.lol.My dad is a muslim mother a christian. But as we all know muslims girls cant marry a guy unless they convert.

However, when marrying an outsider.they alot of worries to be concern with, children culture and religion.

But if both partners are stronge a marriage can work out.

yes............why not??
I believe in true love...............over religions.
The only thing I shouldnt do......is to converse to my husband's religion.
I should respect his religion and I should ask mine to be respected also.
kids should be raised in the religion they would like...but believing in God and being religious.

Aussie is the best answer.

For me , maybe if I fall in love.
But, i think 85% there will be problems more than the same religion marry.
kids is very important , which path they will take??? father will be sad if they choose the path of their mum, and vice versa.

we have alot of this problems in egypt.

15% of this marriage can be ok , maybe because the 2 parts are well educated and love each other.

I wish a good marriage for you all

sebe
I have....and it's great!!!

jack daniels
It's all about true love and love conquers all.

I'm an athiest and would marry anyone as long as they didn't try pushing their religion on me. She could do her thing and I'd do mine.

I'm having this problem at the moment. A man marrying out is a bigger problem than a woman, there is a solution for Jews, the Noachide movement and conversion might be the next step, it is very difficult. However, to the people who adamantly reply NO, I'm not sure, people say these kinds of things but when they meet "that" special person divisions of race, religion and language all disappear in spite of the obstacles!
G-d is love?

ideally no but sometimes when you fall in love nothing matters.i married someone out of my religion and luckily he accepted my Faith and now we are happily married for almost 11years.so yes i did marry out of my religion ..

Commodore
I know a Catholic and a Muslim that will be married for 30 years this year and boy! Are they compatible, easy-going and understanding with each other! They have three adult kids and are still very much in love. A true fairy-tale!
Yes, I would marry out of my religion. It can be done!

Yes, I am not religious so would probably marry someone else who wasn't that religious so it wouldn't matter. I have dated people from different religions without problems.

john j
i don't see anything wrong with it. i did it! i'm pentecostal and my wife is baptist. and we have been married almost 2 years. and it is working out real good. i guess you have got to figure out a compromise.

Terry S
my ex-wife and I are of different religions....if your religion is important to you and your spouse to be is of a different religion it is tough on your relationship. It never ceases to be an issue and as much as neither one of you wants to change the other one or you think you can accept each other as you are, it will always be there stuck in between you as a dividing force.

moneymaker
I did marry a Jewish woman.
Same religion.
Happy :))))

Would I marry out of my religion?
I wouldn't want to, but sometimes you cannot be in control of your heart, so yes.

Yes, and No.
I am married out of my religion. I disagree with the children issue, we wont force any religion on our kids, nor anybody will change his faith. the problem that you wont get rid of is the society, her folks and your folks.
lucky for us we do not live in Lebanon, cause when we are there on vacations we do feel the prejudice from relatives on both sides.
that's why my wife is always against us going back to live in leb for good.
am i happy? A big yes, is my wife happy? a big yes.
but i have seen similar marriages fail big time also.
it depends on the persons, and the circumstances.
marriage by itself without any religion issue, is not an easy thing to deal with.

No i prefer not always marry someone who holds the same background other wise she will have problem with ur family and ur community.

I do not think that anyone outside my religion would understand me, so no.

If my religion weren't also my cultural and ethnic identity, then I would consider marrying out of my religion. However, this is not the case. And since according to Halacha (Jewish law), the person's religion is passed down from their mother, it is imperative that I marry a Jewish woman.

I'd prefer to marry someone whose religion related to mine.

I'm Christian, but I'd marry a Jew without any reservations (though I don't think Jewish men are allowed to marry Christians).
I'd marry an athiest/agnostic, as long as he didn't insist on raisng our children as athiest/agnostic.
It would be hard, but I'd marry a guy of any religion, but I'd make sure we worked out how we'd raise the children first.

bia bia
I didn't, but I guess I would if I truly loved that person and they respected my religion and my family.
