After 9/11 incident the tourism industry of entire world collapsed- Is it true?

In America, the tourism industry was already down a bit, due to the stock market crash of March of 2001. The 9/11 attacks reduced air travel significantly and most tourist destinations sufferred quite a bit. Drive market destinations that were fairly close to major metro areas didn't collapse all that much, as people who were willing to travel preferred to stay close to home.

It pretty much completely rebounded by 2004 and '05 was overall, a very good year.

No, not really. It's just the airline security that creates hostil travelers. That's all I noticed.

not in Tunisia! it's tougher on the ones hit by terrorism but my country is safe. We have posted "FULL" the whole summer here.

kenfitameen
Of course. Fear of flying was the biggest factor i think - however, local tourism industry did well in the UK.
