Air passengers are banned taking liquids on board, but hostesses serve liquids as drinks. What is the logic?

Because the drinks served have already passed through rigorous security and also come from a secure source.

uhh...because airlines wouldn't smuggle possible bomb making materials or chemical agents on to their own planes and passengers might.

the liquids that are served on board have been checked, where as after all the bomb scares there have been people are scared that liquids brought onto the plane may contain some type of explosives.

Well the source and type of liquids provided by air hostesses is known and established, and they are safe. Liquids of various descriptions carried by passengers cannot be considered so safe from a security point of view .. It is the type of liquid and its source that has to be guaranteed, hence the regulations and restrictions in force...

The logic is that one passenger may carry on board one chemical disguised as a drink, and another passenger may carry another chemical on disguised as a drink.
Once on board the two passengers may get together and start a chemical reaction, so to speak.

Well I guess that they have control over which liquids they serve on board. For example, I asked for petrol the other day when they came around with their trolleys, but they didn't have any so I had pop instead.

But you raise an interesting thought. Why does putting make up into a clear plastic bag turn it from dangerous to safe? And why must you only have one bag visible when you walk through security, even if your bag is full of bags? And you can then take them all out and have ten bags again once past security?

It's all pants isn't it? I watched 'Grumpy Old Men' last night and found myself agreeing with everything they said. I think I know what that means...

the drinks they are serving are obviously checked, how does anyone know what is in a bottle ur carrying in yr luggage? it would take far too much time to check everyones liquids just to allow someone to take a drink or something on board. the reason passengers are banned is cos thats how they were going to do that attack and it was normal household liquids they were using .
