They have come down some, but with the price of oil being so volatile it wouldn't be a surprise if the prices went up again. You could book now, but beware, some companies can increase their prices before you start the first leg of your trip. Read the small print or ask your travel agent. Best of luck on your trip. |

I know that Singapore Airlines has lowered the fuel surcharge on many of its flights since the price of fuel has come down. I would not be surprised if many other airlines follow suit. Also it depends on where you are flying. I read that Singapore Airlines has slashed fares tremendously on flights to India because of competition and the prediction that air travel for 2009 will be weak. Therefore I would continue to check the prices of the tickets. Definitely you should purchase at least 2 weeks prior to when you depart. |

Maybe you should wait if the price will be locked. The prices will go down after they use the reserved fuel contracts that they were locked into. they have bought fuel at the now lower rate but must keep prices up to pay for the higher priced fuel that are still using and likely almost out of. |

Basic fare is the fare what the airlines get. That is being reduced.Govt is not in a mood to reduce and stop cheating people.
Book your ticket after Jan 1 otherwise current fare will be charged. |
