You usually don't need to go so far as to say anything. Turning around and glancing back when they kick should be enough for them to realize that you are feeling their kicks.
If that doesn't work, THEN I would follow the advice about quietly and politely saying something.
Afterall, most people are not jerks trying to ruin your flight. They probably just didn't consider the consequences of their action. |

I'm like you, I fly a lot and always end up sitting in front of a kicker, sometime I sit behind a reclining freak I can't stop thinking they'll end up sitting on my lap (great when you're watching a tv screen in the seat in front of you!!).Another good one is when your (sleeping) neighbor ends up on your shoulder. I'm always embarrassed to ask them to stop invading my space and that makes me very cranky!
Santa please bring me upgrades!!! |

all you have to do is turn around and quietly ask them to stop. If they comply, then that is the end of it. If they started again, just remind them - then they should get the message.
But if they do it a thrid time, then I would ask a flight attendent to ask them to stop, or if you can move seats. If they cant find you another seat, they will ask the person themselves to stop kicking you. Dont be worried about making a scene, most forget about it after a little while. |

You ask them politely to stop.
Now, if you have your seat reclined, you're bringing some of that on yourself. With your seat back, the other person behind you now has no more room to move, cross or uncross their legs without hitting your seat.
If they don't stop, and it's more than accidental, inform the FA. |

ask them to stop by saying, "excuse me, but could you please stop kicking my seat around. i'm trying to relax." if that doesn't work tell the flight attendant and he or she will tell them for you. |

I travel a lot and hate this. I usually whisper to them "excuse me could you please stop bumping the seat" and it usually fixes the problem |

You shouldn't wisper. You're entitled to enjoy the flight as much as humanly possible (it often isn't). But don't yell either. Be polite, friendly, but firm. If the person has long legs, ask if you can change seats with them. Find an empty seat if that doesn't work. |

Just ask them politely and firmly if they could stop kicking the back of your seat because you have a bad back or its just damn right annoying you lol. If they ignore you call a flight attendant and explain the situation that you have a bad back lol
I understand how you feel, theres nothing worse on a plane is there, a screaming baby comes a close second though |

Stare straight ahead, eyes closed, and say very loudly "DO YOU MIND!!??" Every time it happens. If the problem continues, start doing situps in your seat, moving the seat back forward and back very quickly each time. And if that doesn't solve the problem takes things up a notch by saying things like "Are you from New York?" or "Are you hitting on me? Hey, this guy is hitting on me!", that sort of thing. |
