The airplane seats will be uncomfortable most likely, but they will probably survive, haha. I'm a larger person as well - not THAT large but about 6 feet, 250lbs and I fly coach class very frequently. I'm fortunate enough that I have enough frequent flier miles to upgrade to first class pretty often as well and the seats are definitely larger (but if you pay for a first class seat it will be a LOT more expensive). I always get an aisle seat on the plane because it's a little less claustrophobic. Unfortunately coach seats are not large - they're often quite uncomfortable for me and even for people much smaller. If you're on a flight that's not full then they can always try to get seated on an empty row. But if possible I would definitely have them get assigned aisle seats. As far as the seatbelts are concerned - if they're not big enough then the airline has seatbelt extenders that can be used. The flight attendants will discreetly help with that (I've seen it done on a couple of flights).

Call the airline that they will be flying and ask about their policy. They will be glad to give you all the information.

A good choice would be to buy an extra seat between the 2 of them. If you decide not to, be prepared to be kicked off the flight if another seat is not available, or to pay about 3x the amount for the seat you'd pay otherwise.

You can purchase another seat that is an option, but if not speak to the airline at check in and hope that the flight is not full to they can seat assign you in a row that is not full for your comfort

I have a brother inlaw who weighs bout 450 he went on a trip with my wife and I and flew in coach.. he paid for two seats.. you can do the same.. I don't think he had to pay two full fares but can't say for sure.. check with the airline and ask the ticket agent about the extra costs.. for everyones comfort level.. either pay for the extra seat or.. buy first class seats.. if you buy two economy seats.. ask for the back ones and buy the aisle seats and the center seat.. it is easier for them to get in and out.. good luck..

Hi, talk to the airline. It may be prudent to buy two seats each (or three seats between them) for comfort...but I recommend getting to the airport early to check in - to make sure that the seats allocated to them are together. It is not unheard of for someone to buy two seats and then find that they are separated by the aisle. You may also need to ask for seat belt extensions - do not assume that the airline will carry them / have enough.
