Airport security on liquids..can you take wet wipes?

I was wondering do you have to present wet wipes in a clear bag like the rest of the liquids/gels/sprays? and if so what is the max weight/size of packet?
I'm traveling on a long haul flight with a stop over, so would want to take wet wipes to freshen up.

Yes I take wet wipes all the time and you don't even have to take it out and put it in a zip lock bag. I just bring a pack of Kleenex wet wipes. No problem.

cubalishus
Yes you can take them but don't need to put them in your clear plastic bag, I've just done 8 flights in 4 weeks from England to Singapore, Melbourne, Cairns, Sydney and returned on each of those flights with a large pack of Johnson's baby wet wipes in my handbag and it was no problem at any point.

Yes you can take them - probably a good idea at the moment! Just take a normal packet, you wont need to put them in a clear bag!

Yes.

Fluids are restricted to 3oz or 100ml or less and must be packed in a clear plastic ziplock bag in hand baggage - they need to go through the x-ray separately.

Wet wipes are not on the banned list.

Someone mentioned putting things in your purse - assume this means handbag. You are not allowed to carry a handbag - the EU security rules state one piece of hand luggage only. A handbag can be carried inside your one piece of hand baggage but that doesn't leave much room for anything else.
No problem about buying wipes and other liquids after you have been screened.
Gatwick hand out clear plastic resealable bags; Birmingham doesn't.

You can go onto your airlines web site and they will give you restrictions and weight and/or ounces of each item you are allowed to carry onboard. If you just have the travel sized packet of them in your purse you should be fine. But, be sure to check first so you dont waste money and have to throw them away. You could also just wait until you are past the security gate and go to one of the airport shops and buy them. May be more expensive but if you really want to carry them that may be a good alternative.

Tim
Yes, you can bring wet wipes. No, they don't have to be isolated inside of a clear plastic bag. They are not "liquids."

That is a great idea. Before you use the tray table, please wipe that thing down really good. I'm not going to gross you out with the stuff that has been found on those tables, but let's just say that I'd never use the napkin given to me with my drink once its touched the table!!

Also, go ahead and wipe your seat down before you sit in it. You may look like a germaphobe, but I do it all the time too!! Airlines do not clean those seats at night, they just clean underneath them. So there is no telling what kinds of skin cells and hair oils you are sitting in.

And since you are obviously worried about germs, bring a 3.4 oz (that's the limit now) of hand cleaner and wipe your hands frequently.

I fly about 10 times a week or more, and I can't tell you how many times I've been sick before I started wiping everything down.

To be safe I would put them in a clear bag. They have air port bags at walmart, that is where I got mine.

I always travel with them, and I put them in my clear bag. This may or may not be necessary, but if your carry on is searched and they are found elsewhere, they could be confiscated. Best to take no chances these days.
