Am I allowed to bring cigarettes in my carry-on when flying?
I am just wondering if I will be allowed to take cigarettes in my carry-on. I am flying by myself and I am 17...I need to know if I can bring a pack. Additional Details flying from chicago to san francisco....i doubt they would id at an airport but idk
You can bring cigarettes and a lighter. It's none of their business if you're old enough to smoke. Used to be that you couldn't have a lighter, but I've noticed lately that they don't care about lighters anymore.

no offence or anything but ur an idiot as if u would smoke!
NIK..!
You can bring Cigarattes [Not lighter] on borad.
- However you are now allowed to smoke. Smoking is prohibited.

What is the legal smoking age where you live? that may be more of a question than whether you can take them on a flight or not.
But yes, those of smoking age are allowed to carry them on board, but no lighters, matches.
bluebell
I think you are allowed, but why would you want to? You can't smoke on board, or in airports either.

Lighters and matches could be used to ignite your explosives. As everyone is a possible terrorist even you and me. Thank god for homeland security they save me from myself. Just incase I might snap and decide to kill a bunch of people they can come in and save me from myself!
Laura
Yes you can, thank goodness. I usually run right for the door upon arrival so I can smoke. I do this before I go to baggage claim. If I had to find a store to buy cigs, I'd probably lose my mind.
iceman
Yes.
And actually, there is no law that someone under 18 cant possess cigs. You just cant legally buy them, but once you have them you cant get into any legal trouble for having them on you. Strange huh?
Warren D
Make sure that you aren't flying someplace where the legal smoking age is 18. As long as you don't smoke in flight you shouldn't have a problem, but several states now restrict smoking to those over 18.
