American airlines or continental for a long flight? |

I like Continental much better for long flights. In my opinion, the food is better, the seats are more comfortable and the flight attendants are more attentive. |

I would suggest American airlines.
Especially if you want to fly to New York, Dallas, or Miami |

Of the two, American has a slightly better on-time record.
Both use a "hub" system so unless your flight is non stop, direct you will be changing planes at Dallas for American, and at Denver for Continental.
You didn't mention where you were going to and from. Are these the only airlines going to your destination? |

Continental is definitely best. Their 767 and 777 aircraft have seatback t.v.'s. Only American's 777 aircraft have seatback t.v.'s. Plus, Continental will give you more food for free. With AA, you have to purchase food. |

I prefer Continental, EXCEPT on transatlantic flights where they use the 757. Very uncomfortable,narrow,small and cramped. But if they use the 767,777, then, no problem.
Are you a member of any airline alliance or mileage?
Think about milleages, flying with Continental you'll get milleages on SkyTeam network ( Delta,Northwest,AirFrance,Alitalia,KLM,A...
And flying with American, you'll get milleage on Oneworld ( British Airways, LAN, Finnair, Iberia, Qantas, Japan Airlines) |

Which one is cheaper? I think they are equal in everything. Do you have frequent miles with one of them? Hmm, It's down to what airport your flying out of and where you are going.
I fly American Airlines to the Caribbean and I fly Continental in the United States. Take your pick!!!
