When i travel i let my son have Tylenol..
if you don't have Motrin would do.
Gave him one teaspoon before on board the airplane.
Because EARS would bother them let them chew a bubble Gum if your Child know how to chew not to swallow the bubble gum. snacks something Crunchy chewy. happy trip.

A key thing to do is to avoid pressure on the ears....so, about an hour before the flight, you take a time-release "Contac" decongestant. Likewise, a small dose of a decongestant for your three year old. That'll minimize the chance that a change in cabin pressure might irritate the inner ear, causing discomfort. As for the fear of flying, just relax and realize that you're more apt to be hit by lightning than have anything happen to the commercial plane you're on, so have a good flight.

Let's sort you out first. Try relaxation therapy. (Once the 3 year old is in bed!) Find somewhere comfortable to sit of lie down and relax each of the muscles in your body in turn. Once you are fully relaxed, imagine yourself in an airline seat feeling very relaxed and thoroughly enjoying the experience. (If you can't manage this on your own, buy a tape from the chemists - but it's the same message). Do this every day for 3 weeks before you fly and you'll relax as soon as you sit down on the plane.

As for your 3 year old. If mum is relaxed, so will he be. Give him something to do and get him a window seat and he'll be fine.

Please don't drug your son. He may be just fine and it's never a good idea to give a child medication when it's not necessary.

Concentrate on the care of your son and not your fear of flying. Since your flight is only 4 hours you should both be able to handle it fine. Make sure a few days before your trip that you both get plenty of rest. Don't wait until the last minute to pack. Get to the airport EARLY, nothing is more stressful than running for a flight, getting through secuity and having to handle a child at the same time. Try to be calm and quiet yourself and your son will learn from you. If you're uptight, nervous and stressed, guess what he'll be. Make sure you bring with you some of his favorite food, and a small toy or two that he is familiar with. Bring a book that you can read to him to quiet him if he gets fussy. I used to sing to my son when we were traveling and he started to get upset. Just a simple song like "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" that he could sing with me did the trick. Since you can't bring liquids through security you may need to stop at one of the stores or newstands to get him a small drink (juice, water) the he can drink until the flight attendants are able to serve you.

I've been a flight attendant for 24 years, I've seen people flying with childen under every circumstance you can think of. Trust me cool and calm is the best way to approach it.

fenigan ask your doctor as i dont think you can buy it over the counter nowadays and while you are there ask him for some beater blokers explain to him and he should give you something to calm you down if not try some rescue remedy its a little bottle and you squirt it into your mouth is really good as im the same as you if i had my way i go by coach or even boat lol i get that bad hope this helps
