Just relax. More people die in car accidents every day. You really NEVER see plane crashes. |

I used to be TERRIFIED of flying. When I didn't do anything, I suffered throughout the whole trip. I tried drinking on the plane (very bad idea) and that was okay for a while but later I suffered a terrible hangover. Before my next trip I asked the doctor for some medications for flying. I was given Ativan and vomited when someone woke me up during our flight to change planes. Then the doctor gave me Xanax for my next flight and that helped a lot because I slept most of the flight. I used Xanax on several flights, but then started to talk myself out of my fears. One of the ways to avoid your fears is to talk to someone (about anything else but your fear) and you will not be able to think of two things at once. Talking to others was the best thing that helped me forget where I was and how I felt. You don't have enough time to work through the fears, so you might try the above methods for your flight tomorrow. |

Just take each step as it comes. Chances are u will love it and won t be able to wait till ur next flight. Enjoy it and don t worry about the various clunking noises going on underneath u. They are perfectly normal but some people find them a little disconcerting. So just chill,I love flying and I think u will too.Have a good flight! |

The easiest way to stay calm is to watch those around you who have flown before (which will be most people). If they are calm, there is nothing wrong. About ten years ago, I flew for the first time and every sensation and noise is weird since there's nothing like it on the ground. But if other people aren't sensing them as strange, take comfort. Also, looking at the window at the scenery is a good way to stay calm. Think of it as aerial sightseeing and something you would never see if on the ground. |

Take some sleeping pills or travel sickness pills. You can get them over the counter at a drugstore.
My mum used to be an air hostess and now she has a fear of flying - it happens to anyone.
I love flying, of course i'm scared before hand. But my dad's a captain for BA and he flies like 4 times a week? He always tells me and my siblings that you're more likely to get run over whilst walking to the shop than crash. If you have a fear of heights.. don't look out the window .. lol. If you do then it's just clouds anyway. Probably a bit of land also.
If you get nervous before u get on the plane(so do i) i listen to my iPod.. it always helps. Try thinking like "It'll be over SO soon".. because it WILL!
Trust me, when u land you'll be like "Why was i worrying.. haha!" It is honestly great fun. I've been flying across the world every year since i was 2 years old. I've always been anxious about flying, but if you just think about the good things, then it's fine. One thing that is deadly - the plane food. I would pack a lunch LOL
Trust me it's not as bad as you think, my mum has to hold my hand and ask me if it's going to crash.. i'm like.. "no mum o_O"
Drink LOADS of water, and walk to the toilet even if you dont need it to get blood flowing around ur leg.
I'm going on a 13hr plane journey this summer.. so just think that you're on one of the shortest flights.. and ur not the only one up there in the sky! There are HUNDREDS of planes up there!
It's really good fun the first time - you'll enjoy it i'm sure. |

It's better than being on a bus. I love flying. My Husband is in the air now, on his way to Belfast International. |

do you like rollercoasters??
If you do, then this will be a nice big piece of cake. I flew for the first time 19 yrs ago, and have flown a total of 18 times since. If you can get past the price of the ticket, then the flight will be awesome. If it is a long flight, you can sleep through it too.
Good luck and have fun!
Oh, take some puzzle books, or a good novel to read in case the movie stinks. |

Just observe others around you and the plane. Theres nothing to be afraid of. Allot of people find it very easy to go to sleep, maybe you will also. You can also take a reading book / puzzle book. Something that you enjoy that will keep you entertained. |
