DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT USE AN AIRPLANE TOILET! They are more disgusting than a public restroom at a gas station.

The plane flies for at least 12 hours a day, and sometimes 20 hours a day depending on the carrier and the routes. Anyways, most airlines ONLY EMPTY THE TRASH when the airplane is on the ground at a city because they only have 20-30 minutes to get it back in the air.

I've seen plane bathrooms that have come in with poo all over the floor, toilet seat, and even the sink! I've seen vomit, spit, mysterious white stuff (mile high residue maybe?), blood, and freshly discarded tampons on the lav sink as well.

Again, these bathrooms are rarely given the proper disinfection until after the plane is done flying then it is cleaned by the overnight crew. Again, I can't promise that they are cleaned properly as well. I always go right before we start to board.

Since I work in the airline industry, I know not to get up in the middle of a flight to use the restroom. If I ever have to during a flight, I will be damned sure to bring wipes with me before I start to use it and more wipes to clean my hands after I'm done because the door knob on the bathroom door is probably dirtier than the toilet seat!

Raax :)
I never use toilets in airplanes. So in other words I sit there for 6 hours until I finally get off the plane.

lol yeah when i was little i hated the sound of it flushing,
but now its whatever.

abccharliez
YES!
when i flush it i think im goin to fall down it :(

I usually pee in a cup under a blanket and hand it to the F/A when they come by for trash.

I can't believe the number of parents that will allow their child to go to the lavatory in their bare feet - don't they know what's on the floor? I mean, c'mon - guys don't have the best aim on steady ground to begin with, and I'm sure things aren't much better with women as I know more than a few that will NOT sit on the seat!

I try to avoid airplane toilets where ever possible. They are really small so you have no room to maneuver, there is usually unknown liquid on the floor that you do not want to step in and there is a lack of quality toilet roll.

Recommend that you go to the loo before you board and don't drink too much liquid on the plane.

Bon voyage

Natalie
Yes, i was in a plane once and i dreaded going to the toilet. But when you can't hold it in anymore, you just have to put up with it :L

Sure do, mostly because you can't turn in them without bumping into something. And I hate the sound they make, too.
