Are Aeroplanes Scary?

Don't worry. Airplanes aren't that scary. I'm afraid of heights, too. I was in second grade the first time a flew in one. I was so scared, the only reason I would go was because we were going to Disney world! The only things that might make your heart skip a little are these. When the plane first jerks off the ground, the motion is small, but it can amount to be bad if you're easily get motion sickness. The second thing is flying through clouds or bad weather. There may be some "bumps", but they are usually small. Besides this, the only thing that may be uncomfortable is landing. May younger people experiance hurting in there ears. This is because the pressure in your inner ears and outside your ears is changing. I suggest you chew gum or swallow, this relieves pain. If you are really that frightened of heights, close the window before your trip starts. But if you feel like being brave, leave it open. I thought I would be scared, but now, one of my favorite memories from when I was young is watching the view out the window. Mountains, farmlands in Kansas, beautiful lakes, and clouds. The clouds are pretty too. If you don't feel ready to fly, make sure you can sit with your parents, or if you're traveling alone, with a flight attendant. It's not as scary when you're with someone. Also remember that while the odds of dying in a car crash are about 1 to 99, the odds of dying in a plane crash are about 52.6 MILLION to 1! And even if someone did happen, they have everything from gas masks if there isn't enough oxygen, to flotation devices if you crash mid-ocean, even to inflatable slides to get safely out of the aircraft if lands in the middle of nowhere. Good luck buddy! And I wouldn't miss out on this one. Flying is really cool once you get used to it. Some airlines even serve warm chocolate chip cookies! :)

Being afraid of heights won't be a problem on an airplane. Since you're securely inside the cabin, you won't feel scared by the height. Believe it or not, there are some pilots who are very afraid of heights, but it only bothers them when they stand on a ladder, not when they fly an airplane.

They aren't scary. being in an airplane feels the same as being on the ground, except for the pressure in your ears. If you need to you can always shut the window. It isn't always smooth though. Sometimes there are turbulents and it feels a little bumpy. IF that happens, remember that airplanes are made especially to go through the sky, and that includes wind. It only feels scary, and you will be perfectly safe. have a fun trip, and don't forget to bring gum in your carry on! :)

It isn't scary. All you feel is the plane going up, which sometimes hurts your ears. To help ease the pain, you should chew gum. My first flight was when i was less then 1. Nothing scary about it. When you are in air and the plane is all steady, you wont even notice that your flying. Just sit back, read books or watch a movie or something and it'll be fine.

you're scared of height.. but trust me, when you step inside the aircraft, ITS MASSIVE! and when its fly, you cant even tell if you're really at 30000 feet above sea level.. plus, its super fun!!! have a nice flight?!

No Mate I'm 14 i have flown about 16 times. Its real good fun. Take off is best because you go super fast.
When you are up there you dont actually realise you are up that high. It seems really fake.
I was like this on my first flight and every bit of turbulence I'd have a major panic. haha.
Its nothing. haha.
When you look out the window it feels like your watching a movie or something its really not that great haha.
In the cabin it feels like your in a building, you cant feel it moving or anything.

It'll all be ok. You wont be scared of heights. Its just different when your flying. Its actually kinda fun!

No I don't like heights either, but I am fine on a plane. Just don't site next to the window.

It always makes me excited and anxious.As long as your window is closed, and you keep yourself busy, the time will fly by.The only part that's annoying is taking off and landing.Your ears pop but there's ways of kind of preventing that.Have a safe trip!
