You are aloud to use CD players. The only electronic devices that are not allowed to be used on airplanes are those that have any type of wireless signals, since those can interfere with the plane equipment.

Sure, you can use CD players in flight. The only electronic devices that are not allowed to be used on airplanes are those that have any radio signals, also I am not sure of the mobile phones. since those can interfere with the plane equipment.
I think, for inflight entertainment you will have much other options. So you can take it with your baggage.

Portable CD Players with headphones are permitted on airplanes but can't be used during takeoff and landing. The flight attendants will tell you when you can use them and have to turn them off.

sure can do, but it just depends on what's the airline you are? before you get on the plane they will cheacking alot and i'm not sure what's the material inside your cd player, it might WARNing, but all the time it will be okay, my cd player passed it, happy!
