Are You Able To Take Laptops On Planes, In Carry-On?

Yes, you can. I've done it recently.

You have to take your laptop out and put it in a separate bin for inspection at security. It cant be in your bag...it has to be out. Also, you can only use it when the plane starts cruising (after it stops climbing to the desired altitude) The flight attendants will announce when you can use your laptop. Cell phone needs to be off the entire flight.

yes but you have to take it out of it's case, and run it through the x-ray. Yoiu don't have to turn it on. Just put it in one of those gray tubs by itself

Yes, you just aren't allowed to have them on during the take off or landing. Electronics can mess with the signals during those times and you are usually forced to turn any electronics off before the plane takes off or lands. Even mP3 players and iPods.

Yes, but you have to remove it from your carry on bag during your security screening. There will be a gray bin to put it in, and it will go through the xray scan. Then you can retrieve it at put it back in your bag. You can use the laptop on the plane, but no internet connection!

Roni S
Yes. I didn't have any problems with mine when i went to New Zealand a few weeks ago.

Yes, you can take it with you in your carry-on. I carry a messenger bag as my "purse" since it fits snugly underneath the seat in front of me and holds my laptop just fine. Then I could still bring along a small carry-on suitcase if needed, but I usually check my suitcases.

I would seriously reccommend taking your laptop in your carry-on, if it all possible. Do not check it. My sister has had things "go missing" from her luggage and you never know just how rough they're going to handle it along the way. Last thing you need would be to find your laptop gone or broken.

Also, yes, you will need to remove it from your bag and place it in its own bin when going through security. I try to have it out and ready to go before I get to the front of the line, just so's I'm not THAT person.

Happy travels!

Yes you are allowed to bring your laptop on the aircraft in your carry on luggage. Actually the TSA suggests that if you are traveling with a laptop that you bring it in your carry on because they are less likely to get damaged that way. The only thing that they require you to do is when going through security you take your laptop out and place in a separate bin, alone, to go through the security screening.

Lisa S
yes, you can take a laptop as a carry on.

luvs2shop
yeah you are, when you go through security make sure to take it out of the bag and put it in a separate bin.

yes, incase you wanna watch a movie. Just no internet

Curtysaurus Rex
Certainly. The only problem you may encounter is that you cannot take them in an extra bag as carry on. Whatever the carry-on limit is, you're held to that. Doesn't mean you can't shove it in your carry-on bag!

tennisgirlie
yes you can. they just have to go through the security thingy.....

Yes... many people do to watch dvd's and also work off-line. You won't be able to go online while flying but once it is okay for electronic devices, you can turn it on. Security will scan it and check it prior to boarding but you don't have to check it with the luggage! Have a safe flight...

mr b
yes you can and if you travel internationally, with the right company, and in the right class, you can use the ac power for your laptop and the internet too.

Chels N
Usually yes. They count it as one of your two bags that you can bring on board. But really, it depends who you're flying with.

IanPR
Yes, but they turn it on at security to make sure its not a bomb.
