Are economy class passengers allowed to sit in business class or first class if there are empty seats?

I am going to Europe in a month. And when I see the business class seating chart, no people reserved seats for buisness class. And I love buisness class because there's more leg space than economy. Thats what I want to ask.

no but you can upgrade!

Brazil
No, especially flying international. If you want to sit in first class you have to buy the ticket. If they allowed you to do that then there would be no point in buying thousand dollar first class tickets.

No they are definately not unless under extreme circumstances when the airline gives you an upgrade. Especially when flying internationally

Stanley, if you want to sit in business class, buy a ticket for business class. Please don't ask the flight attendants or the boarding agent for a free upgrade, because it is difficult for them to not tell you "Fork over the money" and politely tell you "No.' If you ran a business you would not like your employees giving away thousands of dollars in business.

Dan

Nope. It's not fair to the people who paid the Business Class fare.

However....sometimes you can get upgraded at the ticket counter. This is usually reserved for people who have been inconvienanced (late or canceled flight, lost baggage etc...) or if you are particularly handsome and flirt with the girl (or guy) who is checking you in. If you try for an upgrade you MUST dress the part. You will not get upgraded if you are wearing jeans and flip flops.

Flight attendants usually are not the ones who will let you sit up front just because there's an empty seat. They do not want the rest of the passengers getting angry at them for giving you an upgrade and not them.

Good luck with all that

LOL! No. But you can buy an upgrade, if you want.

NO, if you did not pay to sit there you will be kicked out even if the whole section is empty. You can buy an upgrade when you get to the airport if there is a seat open, but don't think you can just go and sit in business class for free.

SlapChop Ur gonna love my nuts
no, not usually.... sometimes though if you are military or something and they notice you have a military or gov id after everyone is on the plane, they may ask if you want to move up. It's only happened to me once... but I have government id. I'd never pay for for first class or business on the trips I take... they are like $10,000 + for first class (japan to us or vice versa)

TC
Generally no, but there are always exceptions to the rule. How you get around this is up to you. You could sweet talk the air hostess, cadoodle with the pilot...or fake some sort of injury. The possibilities are endless.
Bottomline, you pay for the seat you get. If your lucky you will have the whole row in economy free for you to put your feet up on.
Happy travels!
