Everybody says that they need special accomadations from the airline.
I am 15, but I have flown many many times and after the age of 12, the person is an adult in the airline business.
They still need a passport, if travelling internationally. If under 12 then they NEED to get an attendant to get them from on to and off the plane. After 12 the parents can decide if they want to pay extra for the attendant. It is up to the parents to decide if they think their child can navigate through an airport. |

They can travel alone aged 16.
But if your not sure contact the airline and a air hostess escorts them all the way

Yes, However you would need some kind of government issued id. I.e. Passport, State ID. You would also need someone who has a credit card to purchase the ticket or I think some airlines let you pay by western union.
Good Luck and Happy Travel!! |

Yes. They are given special passes to let the attendants on the plane that they are minors traveling without an adult. However, if the kids you are speaking of are under the age of twelve, I wouldn't reccomend it. |

Yes... When you purchase their flight ticket, you will have certain requirements. They will travel as an unaccompanied child, and will be under surveillance of one of the onflight crew members (usually an air hostess). If I remember correctly this is used until age 16 (but I am not sure of the age limit). The child will also have to be received at destination by a person specified when the ticket is purchased. The company you buy the ticket from will give you complete info. |

They are,12 and under are considered unaccompanied minors which may cost additional fees because they are never out of an agent or escorting adults supervision. 13- 16 can fly without adult supervision. Most airlines wont allow minors to make connections at night on the last connecting flights out just incase a cancellation and the possibilty of the minor getting stranded. |

Yes. If they are over 16 (on most airlines) they can fly on their own completely without any extra supervision. Or, for a fee (usually $100 or so extra) you can pay for someone to take them to the gate, to their seat, and then through the airport when they arrive. |

yes. it mainly depends on who you are flying through. children over the age of 5 are generally allowed to fly by themselves. some companies such as American airlines require children under the age of 14 to ride with someone who is 15 or older. children 15 and older are considered young adults and can generally always fly by themselves |
