You should turn off your phone as soon as they say you have to do it. But you provably won't have a signal 10 minutes after take off. |

There are two times when using your phone is possible, before taking off and after landing. During the flight, your cell phone should be turned off. You most likely wont get any signal during flight to send or receive anyway. Also, your cellphone signals could cause problems with the planes sensitive communication equipment - putting the passengers in danger. It is best that you plan to no use your cell phone during the flight. |

No...during a flight, you can't use anything equipment that sends and receives signals. You will not be allowed to text your friends while you fly, so your thumbs will get a rest. |

not legally. Its against faa/airline regulations cause people worry that any broadcasting of signals might mess with the instruments and make the plane crash. but yes its possible and probably wont do anything |

In my personal experience, they always make sure phones and Internet is turned off because they say it can bother with the plane's communication systems.
Hope it helps. |

You're actually not supposed to have a cell phone on in the plane, because it can cause interference with the pilot's communication system. You wouldn't want to be responsible for that! |

You may NEVER turn on your cell phone.
If you are flying Virgin Air, you can chat on their planes with other passengers, but not with anyone on the ground.
It just is not possible. |
