All portable electronics must be turned off once the cabin door is closed. The only items you can use onboard (above 10,000ft) are ones that don't transmit a signal. So no cell phones, AM/FM radios, walkie-talkies, etc. The likelyhood of a signal affecting the plane's electronics is small, but would you really want to risk it?

You can turn your cell phone on if it has a game or airplane mode, otherwise it has to be off until you land. If you tried to turn it on and use it, what would probably happen is: 1) A flight attendant would ask you to kindly turn it off and put it away... not so kindly if you ignore him/her. 2) It's very difficult to get a signal at such a high altitude. Your phone would use up all it's battery power searching.

nope sorry you cant, i know it sucks but it has something to do with electronic devices interfering with the planes navigational systems i think

Gerald J
No, you are not allowed to turn your phone on during the flight, and it's highly unlikely that you will get a signal at 30-35,000 ft. anyhow.

Even if you try, you would not have reception to send or receive.

Jerry B
NO, you must keep your cell phone off...and don't even try it...you can play with your toys after you get on the ground.

K
nope too high up, and you havw to keep wireless electronics off (like a cell phone) off cuz it could interfere with the plane's flight

Square Pants
if you're using laptop, yes you can.. but if you use cell phone, NO!! in fact, you can be charge because using cellphone in flight..
