Are you allowed to bring contact lenses and the lens' solution with you in the airport?

Now with all the restricted rules about liquids not being allowed with your handcarry luggage..are you allowed to bring the lens' solutions

This is only allowed if it is by prescription... Pack your glasses!

VT
I'm sure its not allowed, but i completely disagree. Contact solution in the original bottle should be allowed because you can't put other liquid in those bottles.

Wear the contacts. Buy the solution when you get there.

you'll probably just have to put it in your checked luggage, won't be able to carry it on.

cosaxteacher
Into the airport, yes. Past the security areas, no. And that only applies to the solution. If you wear the lenses you can go anywhere.

A very good question, I was thinking the same. I think you would have to carry it in your hold luggage unless for some reason they were backed up by a doctor's prescription with your name on it. You should be okay with one pair for most flights. If your flying across the world you could always check your bags out and the back in to access another pair.

Jenn
wear your glasses. If you're going on a long trip, your eyes will thank you anyway, cuz they won't dry out while you're napping. Pack the lenses & contact solution in your checked pieces so you can wear them when you get there.

Molly
Only carry the contacts on if you really really gotta, because they'll probably do all sorts of tests on them if they're sitting in any kind of solution in their case. Definitely no solution or eye drops allowed on their own.

You are allowed to bring it, but it must be in your checked luggage. All liquids with the exception of breast milk, insulin, and other prescriptions are prohibited as carry on. But all are acceptable in checked baggage which goes through more security checks.

Dude
You can probably bring your contacts, but not your solution.

hippie
no i don't think so.
