Yes, there aren't restrictions on medicines or health-needs items. But you have to take them out and show them to the screener when you go through security.

The full list is here:
http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/prohibited/permitted-prohibited-items.shtm

Note that saline solution is specifically listed in the unlimited category.

Yes, contact solutions are considered medications and medications can be carried on flights. In the US they are not counted in the rule that liquids must be 3 oz or less and in a plastic bag...but you must declare them to the security agents. Here is the TSA page on traveling with medicines: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/airtravel/specialneeds/index.shtm

Rules are similar in Europe and the UK. Check here: http://www.gva.ch/en/PortalData/1/Resources//fichiers/publications/publications_informative/20061106_surete-gva_en.pdf or the British Airways site: http://baa.com/

Here is our page on that: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/packing-medications.html and a sample form to help: http://www.mousetourstravels.com/form-to-declare-medications.html

Happy travels!

Yes, bu twhen you take it through security is has to be in a small bottle 3 ounces or less, and you have to put it in a clear ziplock bag. Many airports have shops AFTER security where you can buy it also.

Once you get passed security you can do whatever you want with it.

yes you are. i called and asked that question as well as abotu baby formula. it has to be the tracel size solution bottle. and be prepared to use it. tehy will want you to remove your contact and rub solution and on and then stick it back in your eye. but each airline is different this is thru American Airlines

These two sites will keep you updated on airport security issues: http://wehow.ehow.com/how_2003583_pack-holiday-travel.html

Yes, as long as it's in a three-ounce or smaller containers and in a one-quart, zip-top bag to go through security screening and then once onboard the plane you can take it out of the bag and use it. It's the screening process that makes it difficult to bring on (difficult only if over three-ounce size).

this is the "3-3-1" rule. you may have ONE clear plastic zip lock bag. In it you may put THREE 3 ounce bottles of liquid. That is all. Period. After you clear security, you may go to airport shops and purchase other liquids. You can check your airline's website or call them to verify this.

Not allowed but you can make a special request on medical grounds!

If you want it carry on, make sure it's travel size and fits into your ziplock bag. Someone tried putting some kind of terrorist thing into a liquid and now we all have to suffer because of it.
