Are you allowed to take Deodorant onto a plane?

Show all answers

mzdrea08
you’re only allowed to carry up to three ounces of “deodorants made of gel or aerosol” in your carry-on, which implies that a standard “stick” deodorant should be OK in any size. That said, a number of travelers have reported inconsistent application of the rules.

The problem is the definition of “gel.” Most deodorants that are solid sticks of gel seem to be OK (although officially would seem not be allowed). However, some travelers have reported greater problems with the type of gel deodorant that is pushed through holes, something about TSA agents not being able to touch the actual gel seems to put it over the edge.

yes you can

There are size restrictions. I think they had made some changes to the policy a few months back. I would call the airport to be sure what you can and can't bring.

Yes, but it shouldnt be more than 100 ml

kyle s
yes, put it in your check luggage in that one you don't have to worry about the size. I also think that you shouldn't take a gel stick to be safe. In carry ons all liquids and gels have a max limit of 3 onces.

Ya you can and you should

Terry E
Yes you may. I recently departed from Honolulu with a new "stick" of Mennen Speed Stick and there was no hassle (I was hassled for carrying a large bottle of Tums Antacid though). :-)

Also, check the CBP's and TSA's websites for more info: http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/vacation/kbyg/prohibited_restricted.xml (you can link to TSA from this website).

Good Luck!

mandynevadaa
yeah i do it every time i go.
get a travel sized one just to be sure.
its different for every airline.
or you can go on tha airlines website and check out the requirements.

anonysquirrel

Some planes may allow small ointment type. But to be sure, put it in your baggage.

Joellie H
Eugh why dont you just put it in your CASE?

Jrod
if it is less than 4 oz.

Kassie L
If you put in in your suitcase and not your handbag, I don't see why not. I went to Germany almost 3 years ago and I didn't have any problems except for a paper hole punch and finger nail clippers.
