It's allowed. Only it is not permitted to be turned on, especially other electronic devices such as MP3 players, cellphones, and hand held games, during take off.

Yes, you're allowed. No problem with batteries. I'd done always and the last time was as recent as February 14th, 2008.

Yes, but because it's an electronic device, they will ask you to turn it off for the first twenty minutes or so and last half hour or so for take off and landing. Besides that, you are able to use it freely (Well, not as a weapon, anyway, but you get what I mean...)

It was my first time on a plane...i was 31. we flew from Australia to England.....38 hr flight!!!
we took a few pics....nothing was said or done so it should be fine.
