I don't think they'll miss it if you don't return them. But I won't bother taking them - most unlikely to meet my needs anyway. |

Only if the airline says its OK. I flew home on the 24th/25th. Our plane was delayed in Denver because of ice and snow. On the flight to our airport it was struck by lightning and when it landed it had to be checked out. We passengers were now 4 hours behind schedule we have missed our Denver flight and boy! were some of them cranky! We eventually caught a flight out but Denver didn't have any flights for us. To make a long story short we did get a flight to LA with free movies and we could keep the headphones with no fees.
So, it depends. I think most of them charge a fee and you get to keep them because of the health issues. The ones I have seen are very cheaply made. But ask the attendant in any case. |

These days the airlines charge $5 for headphones. If you buy them, then yes, you can take them home. |

no they will ask for them back |

Hey, you have to have an adapter for outside headphones on most planes. Regular ones will NOT work in most cases because the headset uses two prongs not just one. |

Depends on the airline. Those Singapore airlines flight attendants will come around and collect the headsets before landing. (Their headsets are not cheapie ones) |

yeah, I think this day and age that they are all able to be taken home as opposed to you used to just "rent" them in the past. I like it better this way as it seems unsanitary to reuse something like that |

depends on which airline but some of them will not work on other devices because they have two tong set up and most devices only use one. |

Yes you can take the headphones home most of them are disposable others you buy for like 5 bucks. I have two pairs from my last flight they come in handy when you get one of those flights that charge you. |

There's no rule that says you can't take them home with you (as they should be a single use item). Airlines will generally replace the headphones after each flight anyway.
However, most of the time the headsets from the plane won't work in any other system than the one on the plane so be warned....
Happy traveling! |

I can't speak for all airlines, but jetBlue lets you take yours with you or hand them back at the end of the flight. |

yeah, airline headphones are yours to take if you have to pay for them. If you don't pay, well, i don't think they're gonna miss'em. |

yes. At least on most airlines. You either buy the headphones for the onboard entertainment, or u rent a digi-player that comes with a complimentary pair of headphones.
long story. yes..take em' home! |

That depends on a couple of things...
First, some airlines actually try to make a buck or two by selling the headphones for $5 or $10 just prior to the in-flight movie. If you purchase them, they are yours, and you may carry them on any future flight.
Second, some airlines aren't out to get you and actually have headphones readily available. These are a bit like Hotel Towels.... they won't really be missed, and there is no way you would ever be held accountable unless you had a bag full and they all fell out infront of security... etc... You'd have to be a "dumb crook" to get caught.
Unfortunately for the potential headphone thief, they are designed with anti-theft in mind. Most of the time, the headphones have not one, but TWO jacks to plug in. So instead of normal headphones that have one jack to plug into the player, these have a two-pronged jack. This means that they are virtually useless except on airplanes. |
