The rules are that
Prescription medication must have a valid prescription label or
You must have a copy of a valid prescription carried with the pills.
The name on the label/prescription must match your ID and your boarding pass.
For non-prescription pills, it is best to keep them in their original container or packaging.
All medication, prescription or not, should be packed together in a clear ziploc bag so that they can be pulled out quickly if security needs to see them.

Over the counter medication is ALLOWED on aircraft all the time. Keep them in the original containers that you bought them in and you will have no problems. You can also bring prescription meds. Just be sure the prescription meds are in the original prescription bottle with your name on it. Of course you can't try to bring through 800 vicoden or anything outrageous but a reasonable amount of medication prescribed for personal use is perfectly legal. |

If you are on prescription medications and they are in the original container, they can be carried on board the airplane. In fact, NEVER put prescription medications in checked baggage. ALWAYS carry them with you in case your flights are delayed or your checked bags are misrouted (that is, lost)! Don't let the airlines try to get you to check medications!
You should also contact your doctor(s) and get a valid prescription to carry with you, just in case you lose your medications. |

If it is perscription and in your name, they will not consifcate. Things like advil you might want to stick in your luggage and not carry on. |
