i believe so.
it doesnt have a radio signal.
thats why you cant use phones
because the signal messes with the equipment.
i used my camera on my trip to DC w/ school (we went by plane <33)
i didnt get in trouble. |

If you go to airliners.net it seems pretty apparent that you are allowed to take pictures during the entire flight. flightlevel350.com is full of videos of take-offs and landings. So it seems to be an issue without a solid answer, you are not supposed to use electronic devices, but obviously thousands of pictures are being taken. |

It really depends on the airline policy...I tried searching thru Cathay Pacific and camcorders, cameras, and cellphones are allowed as long as you use OFFLINE modes on you cellphone....Definitely Cameras are allowed even durin In-Flight |

I believe that you can use cameras on takeoff but your not allowed to use cell phones when the plane is in the air but when the Wheels hit the ground you can start using cell phones. |

You are not allowed to use electronic devices during takeoff and landings of the aircraft. The flight attendants will inform you on when it is ok to use those types of devices. |

your not ment to but just look at everyone using camcorders that is on youtube. 100's of ppl filming take off and landings when video cameras are ment to be off!
You can use it once the plane starts to level out (20 mins) and your supposed to turn it off on decent (20 mins before landing). So you have that window. |

You are supposed to turn off all electronic devices. A digital camera would be an electronic device, but not all cameras are. |

NO your are not allow to.
CIvil Air Regulations require all electronic devices must not be use during take off and landing...
but...
people don't listen... then when a crash happen, they always blame the airline... |

No, on the plane it says that " when during take off please turn off all electronical divices" so you can take it before the take off or after. Anyway have a fun trip! |

NO, I was just on a flight, and they tell you to turn off all electrical devices, including MP3 players. Once you get in the air they let you, but no. |

No use of electronic items during take off.. |

No but it's likely you'll get away with it if you're out of the direct vision of the F/A's. It's kind of hard to see from the jumpseat what the people at the windows are doing.
Honestly, if it's innocent, they may not bother to say anything. Try not to film the actual take-off. Wait till you're in the air. Taking pictures of airports is often banned so be sure it's far behind you as you ascend. |

You're not supposed to use any electrical devices during takeoff. |

A video camera?
Sure go ahead and use it, then you can sell exclusive video of the crash. |
