Are you supposed to tip Airport Baggage Delivery? If so How Much? |
My bags didn't make it with me on my flight today, so they came on the next flight. They are being delivered to me in a town that is about an hour away from the airport. Obviously Im upset that my bags didnt make it, but Im not upset with the guy that is bringing me the bags such a long way ... I kind of feel like he deserves at least a little something, but since I am not paying for his service I dont know how much to tip him. |

Usually the airlines deliver directly to your house. Thats what Southwest did for me and they just left it where i indicated them to at the airport when I was filing my claim. The guy just came, left everything on the front steps, and left. I didn't even know he came. |

When the airline delays the arrival of your luggage at their fault and you arrange for them to deliver your bags the airline pays for FedEx or a contracted delivery company to bring you your bags. Although it's apperciated you are not expected to tip the delivery person. It's basically like they're deliverying a package. I've seen the airline pay over $200 dollars to deliver something like a fanny pack to somewhere that was over an hour from the airport. |

I sure would not! The thing was supposed to be on the carousel, where I could pick it up for free. I am supposed to pay for the "service" of getting my bag late??
happened to me twice: first time, bag was delivered to hotel front desk in the middle of the night, so I never saw the delivery person. Second time, doorbell rang at 3.30 am and I was 3/4 asleep, had no idea who could be at the door at that time...
let the airline take care of its contractors, who should take care of their employees! |

They usually deliver my luggage to a foreign country, then ship it back to my home after about 6 months.
