Alaska flies from CA to Newark Airport (right across the river from NYC). Great service.
For any airline, if you want legroom, try to get a seat in the emergency exit row, or sometimes the bulkhead (front) row.

I've done a few cross country flights. Northwest, American are both good. Also, Delta is decent. |

Never have taken them, but I heard Virgin is a good one to take for the long haul trips. Jet Blue is another one.
I'm a loyal United flier. When I go out west to Denver and SF, they seem to have quite a few 777's going on the longer hauls. That might be worth looking into -- I'm sure that's what they use for the cross country trips. |

deff not us airways i took them down for vacation to visit my aunt and uncle in phoenix and i have to leave tomorrow to go back to maine and they suck and are uncomfortable. the food sucks and it cost money. |
