I'm a frequent traveller and I have to agree with a lot of people, Singapore, Quantas, BA, Thai. We recently flew with Virgin to New York and they were superb.
However, I've now flown with Monarch 3 times and each time they have been really bad. Once we paid for an upgrade and didn't get it and weren't given the money back. Their planes are the worst for seat pitch, especially when you are flying long haul and the food is not good. On the flights we were on the crew hardly ever came round with drinks either and you were kinda left to fend for yourselves. We won't ever travel with them again. |

Wow, nobody EVER asked this question...
Here we go again...
Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, because of excellent service, attention, great connecting hubs, modern and well maintained fleet, innovative IFE, superior quality in every class compared to other carriers...like:
Air Koryo, cubana, Afriqiyah. Why? Well, you can try them I won't! |

Thai Airways: Excellent Asian hospitality. |

Really depends on where you are going. Japan Airlines are my favourite. The worst I've ever travelled with was Emirates.
I think icedmarried man works for China Air (also not good). |

Japan Airlines is my favorite. Prices are reasonable, stewardesses are beautiful and they have
good service. My least favorite is Air Canada-their stewardesses look like Soviet street workers. |

Singapore Airlines are great. Their service is efficient and friendly and their planes are more comfortable than many others I have been on. In Australia, Virgin provides good value for money. Happy travelling! |

I would say bmi, I work for them and I might be bias but I think that it's a great airline! The service is second to none and we are Britain's most punctual airline!! For flight information and great destinations go to www.flybmi.com Now there's a plug if ever I heard one!!!
Happy flying!! |

National carriers of the main western nations are all satisfactory in terms of safety (which I suspect is what you are asking!). I live in the UK and fly to Europe and North America. I would have no fears about the following companies for trips to/from the USA and Canada: British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, Air Canada, Lufthansa and Continental. For Europe again I'd be happy flying with British Airways and Lufthansa, and for Scandinavian countries I'd choose SAS.
The reason for my choices are that they all have excellent safety records, and (usually) good customer service, both on the ground and in the air. NOTE These are just my personal choices - there are others which are as good (e.g., Quantas, American Airways, Air New Zealand) but I have never flown with them.
The ones of which travellers are told to be aware are third world carriers (some of which are actually banned from flying into certain western countries!), the former Eastern bloc airlines e.g., Aeroflot, and certain Chinese companies (especially if flying old Russian designs!).
You might like to Google 'International airline safety records' where you'll be led to several websites which give information on the world's airlines and their safety records.
Have a safe flight! |

The best by far is Singapore Airlines. Truly superb. Faultless.
The worst I've ever experienced was Monarch Airlines, though to be fair, this was about 30 years ago! |

China Air they treat everyone like royalty. JAL is terrible I hate their food. American treats you like garbage. China Air you can stay entertained I Love their movies and being able to select them at will and freeze them or replay any part at any time I feel first class even riding economy |
