I'm flying to Mexico in a few weeks and have researched this a lot. For the most part buying straight though http://www.delta.com or http://www.continental.com were the two cheapest. Unlike the other person said, Mexico does not require you to have a round trip ticket. For your daughter you must have a written and notarized permission form signed by her father giving you permission to take her out of the country.

Kayak.com compares all the airlines so you can see which one is the cheapest. Mexicana tends to usually be cheap. So is Aero Mexico. Just check kayak. Or farecompare.com

You're usually best checking the airlines' own websites as they will offer fares without agent commission and so on.
However, you may be able to purchase tickets at further discounts from online agents like Expedia, Travelocity and so on.
