Yes you can but the ticket has to be in his or hers name. Also be sure to see that you dont use the credit card as a ticket (e-ticket or simular) since your friend then will have to show your credit card. Johan

suppose you pay cash from your pocket would there be a problem? similarly, if you pay by credit card, there would be no problem so long as you are using your own credit card.

so go ahead, pay for your friend, and be a friend indeed!

yes

prateek_rath
Ofcourse

Sam Relan
Off course you can, but in his name. Credit card doesn't matter. Make sure its booked on his name.

It is possible to book the tickets in his name. If you are booking from the airline site, then in that case they always will ask for credit card copy from your friend. So you will have to give him the front copy of your credit card.
If you are booking from a travel agent website i.e. makemytrip.com, cleartrip.com etc, then you do not need to give a copy and provide your details and book the ticket.

Wayne Fontes
Probably, but be aware that some travel sites don't allow you to buy tickets for someone who isn't a permanent resident of the country in which they are based. Just check the websites FAQs before booking the ticket.
