Yes, he can go on a plane, I often read to give a baby a pacifier or bottle when it takes off for the ear popping. Some people buy seats for the baby as well, so that you can bring your carseat and put him down to sleep, but you don't have to. I never actually travelled by plane with my baby, but I got a lot of baby advice emails. I hope I helped a little |

Yes I took my daughter to the Caribbean from the U.K when she was six months old, she was fine and slept most of the time until about an hour from the end of the 10 hour trip ( we still dont know how she knew when to wake up) but British Airways provided every comfort imaginable for her including their onboard "baby crib" which was really handy. No her ears did not pop at all! |

of course baby's can go on planes.
you just need to notify the air line company, they have special deals for babies anyway.
and as for the safety precautions you can click on the following site. |

Last time I flew there was a 7 month old baby and she was fine, everyone was complimenting the mother on how the baby was so well-behaved. She said she used a pacifier to help the ear popping and gave the baby lots of fluids. Good luck and enjoy your trip. |

6months...
thats a tough one....
especially for 16hrs..
the baby would need constant entertainment due to the fact that it will be in one spot for t16hrs..
it will be crying and annoying everyone around..
as for the ears...there are special ear plugs you can buy at the airport..most little stores there have them |

My neice went on a plane when she was three months and she was absoulutly fine! So don't worry about that! If you take your child to his pediatrician they should have drops or ear plugs specifically made to fit him. Another thing to do is tire him out. Either by feeding him and rocking him or do whatever to make him tired so when you get on the plane he's tired and goes to bed. Make sure you bring his favorite toy or animal or teddy bear so if he gets upset you can hand him that and maybe he'll stop. Don't be scared or nervous when he cries because he's bound to but don't worry about others just make your son happy! Have fun on your trip and I hope this helps!!!!! =] |

Yes. You can take your son on the plane. Make sure he does not have upper respiratory symptoms or nasal congestion before he boards the plane. |

I would check with your son's pediatrician first just to make sure everything will go smooth. As for the ears popping, give your son a pacifier or bottle to suck on since every time he swallows, the pressure in his ears will lessen. Also, make sure you take a lot of different activities for your son since he'll get restless sitting in the same spot for 16 hours. Good luck & safe flying :) |

He'll be fine, but the other passengers may experience some discomfort from your situation.
I've traveled with my daughter when she was 9 months. The key is lots of distractions and be sure to bring plastic bags to hold the dirty diapers.
If you don't breast feed, and are planning on giving him formula, check ahead with the carrier to make sure they don't have limitations on what you can bring onto the plane
If you get really desperate, while I don't recommend it, I do have friends who give their kids benadryll before a plane trip as it makes them sleepy - this seems a bit like drugging your kids, but it does work.
However, based on what you've said here, it sounds like the plane trip will be physically safe for your 6 month old. |

To stop ear popping have your baby drink lots of fluids and milk. Every time they swallow the ear popping will reduce. If you give your baby tylenol or some medicine that has drowsiness they'll sleep the whole time and you wont even have to worry about it. |

He will be fine. Just bring him something to chew on. Give him fluid and he will be okay. |

Unless it is of life-changing urgency don't do it.
The baby is too young for such stress and trauma. It will be 16 hours of pure suffering, physical and mental for him.
And for everyone around you as well. Planes smell and sound bad enough at the best of times. |
