Yes in Theory - I work in naval aviation and helicopters are able to refuel in the air. Dangerous would arise since the speed and altitude limitations on helo's compared to fixed wing aircraft. Also you have to factor in the flight hours an engine can fly before it needs to have the oil and hydrualics serviced - Here is a website about military transatlantic helo flights - http://www.aeroworldnet.com/his.htm |

not without mid-air refueling. |

Yes it can without refueling
The copter can take off and land in any major US city that has an India consulate.
Therefore, technically, the copter took off in the USA and landed in India as the consulates are foreign land those governments purchased in America. |

Yes, Military helicopters can do this because they can, in fact, refuel en route while in the air. Without that ability, there isn't a helicopter that could do it. |

Conceivably, a large military helicopter with in-flight refueling capability might be able to do it. I'd sure hate to be in that crew though. |

With just the fuel on board, no, a helicopter's range is very limited. Most of modern day helicopter's maximum range is 500 miles.
However, with the use of a mid-air refueling port, yes. Many military helicopter's and some commercial ones can be refueled in flight. |

no, mainly due to fuel. I am pretty sure miltary helicopters can refuel mid-air. |

Um.. no |

No. Helicopters do not have the fuel capacity to fly that kind of distance. |

No. Helicopters are not designed for long flights. For one thing, it would run out of gas. Helicopters don't fly at the altitudes that planes do either, so weather/atmospheric conditions would be a big problem.
Ok, maybe military ones?? |

Military ones. |

Only to prove a point. Otherwise, no.
It would have to refuel many times, but not necessarily land to do so.
WHY ????????????????????? |

Certainly with mid air refueling. |
