Can a person take a birthday cake in the airplane?

I guess you can....i mean, the 3oz rule only applies to liquids and gels. I just strongly recommend doing it because the cake could get messed up...it could even go bad.

Its better to buy a cake after you get to your destination. That way, you would have a screwed up cake.

Back in the 80's I know you could. Also, even a few years ago, I knew somebody flying First Class on Air New Zealand to Los Angeles, on his birthday, and the Flight Attendant gave him a cake from the Airline! Personally, I have never tried. A friend of mine was celebrating a birthday on August 4th of last year, when we were flying on Air Canada from Edmonton to Toronto on the red-eye flight. I spoke with the crew, we had cupcackes for our entire group (of 30 onboard), they made an announcment, we sang happy birthday, and even wore party hats! Considering it was at 5.40 am, some people were less then impressed, but they made the announcment just as we began descending. Very helpful! Try that!

It has to be REALLY light. For a simple answer and for safety don't take a cake with you on your journey. If you still want to then contact your airline for further details.

Food is not allowed on the airplane. We had to throw out our gum while going through security on my last flight.

mobilemark
only if under 3oz! and no candles!
now if you are flying an long flight (one with a meal service) you might want to contact
the airline to see if they could provide a small cake for you
(of course this wouldnt work for a airline that doesnt
have a meal service)

Food has to be in it's original packing, that's packing as in factory made wrappers
