It must be purchased in the "secure area" between the security checkpoint and the gate. If you try to bring bottled water through the checkpoint it will be confiscated. If you buy it after that you can have it on the plane. |

You cannot take bottled water through the TSA security checkpoint. However, you can take an empty water bottle through and fill it up from a water fountain past security. This is allowed and you can take that water bottle onto the plane. You can also buy bottled water in the secure area and take that aboard the plane.
The stewardesses will also serve water and other drinks to passengers once the plane reaches cruising altitude.
Don't drink too much or you will be using the restrooms too much and have to crawl over your seatmates. |

Yes - I do all the time, especially on long flights. But, as others have pointed out, the water must be purchased inside the security checkpoint. |

Only if you purchase it after the security check point. When we recently flew there were people very upset because they thought they could bring their own on. However a lot depends on who is checking the bags. No one said anything to me about all the snacks in my carry on that I brought from home but several other people were told that without the receipt they couldn't bring theirs on. |

Yes you can take your bottled water into the aircraft provided that is half-full especially if you need one for health reason. They are only taking away shampoo, lotion, gel and among others as a precaution. |

most airlines today won't alow water bottles on the plane that you bring in before going through security. They take it away from you as a precaution, but afterwards, if you buy the liquid at a magazine stop or restaurant near your gate it is cleared for you to bring onto the plane. Again, it all depends on the airline, security level, and what exactly you bring with you... |
