Yes, any kind of photo id is acceptable as long as it has your picture and your name. Although you should bring another form of id if you can, like birth certificate or something just in case. Just being expired doesn't change who you are, so as long as you look similar, it's acceptable. S.C. Dra out! |

Yes you can use that as ID. The only reason why they would could or would give you a problem is because of the expiration date. They don't generally check that though. If they do, then explain to them the situation. I'm sorry for you losing your stuff and good luck with your flight. |

If it's a picture military ID you should be fine. It would be ideal if you had a driver's license - even if it's expired they are only looking at the picture & your name on a federally accepted card. |

More importantly you should inform your credit card company and bank if you use them that your ID was stolen so that you won't get any fradulant purchases. |

Probably not. You will need to have a state issued ID. |

The real answer is this. In order to check in you must present one form of government issued ID that is UNEXPIRED...OR two forms of ID. Since your military ID is expired you will need to provide a second form such as a social security card, birth certificate with raised seal or passport. You can also use a vehicle registration, voter registration, hunting or fishing liscense. If you have none of these and do not have time to get a new ID, you will need to file a police report and take it with you to the airport. A Sam's card or membership card to a business does not count.
Unfortunately any ID that is expired is invalid and you will be denied checkin. Even if you check in at the kiosk and do not check bags, TSA is trained to verify expiration dates as well. Contrary to other comments, we do check for expiration dates, government seals, holograms and name matches as well as picture matches to the passenger. It may seem like a quick look, but we look at 10,000 of them every day and are used to the different state ID's so it doesnt take that long to glance.
Example from Delta.com
One unexpired form of local or federal government-issued photo id, such as:
Passport
Driver's License
Military ID
Or two unexpired forms of non-photo id—one must be issued by a state or federal agency. |
