The 3 fluid ounces thing is ONLY for carry-on bags: http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/311/index.shtm
There's no ruling for checked luggage.

You can definitely put your gel in your checked luggage (I'd recommend putting it in a Ziploc or in a plastic grocery bag and then putting it in your luggage, just in case it leaks).

Batteries should always go in your carry-on bags - the change in temperature and air pressure in the baggage compartment will cause batteries to "explode", making them useless (and making a mess).

Have a great trip.

Your 6 ounce size hair stuff exceeds the safety guidelines. You are limited to only 3 oz. You can put it in your checked in bag though. You are only allowed to take one plastic bag of liquids 3 oz and below. Every liquid you take on that plane in your carry on bag has to be under 3 oz and fit in ONE bag!

Well, you can bring your hair gel. I would recommend putting it in a Zip lock bag, so it wont burst out on all of your other things. Also, put it in the middle of your suitcase, between your clothes. Its better like that. No, they won't take it if you follow my advice. I've been on a plane tons of times. Don't sweat it. The plane ride will be fun. Have fun on your trip!

You can put it in your luggage. You may also put it in your carry on, but they could always take it. They probably wouldn't in your checked luggage. Batteries are fine. You can carry them on with you and your camera. They'll scan the camera.

In your carry on luggage?
If the carry on luggage, it needs to 3 ounces. Like the samples at stores. Travel size.

Batteries of coure you can take. they won't take it.

if you ahve the gel in your luggage luggage they won't take it.

Your carry on won't work. I would pack my hair gel in a zip lock bag in my suitcase. Call the airline to be sure of the procedure since it changes all the time.

Just the girl next door
I would recommend putting it in a ziplock bag. Because of the air pressure, it may explode.
Or just buy a travel sized bottle when you get to where you are going.

Go to the website of whichever airline you are taking. They have a list of everything you can and cannot take on!! I flew for the 1st time this year, and it was extremely helpful!

Have FUN!!

You can take any amount of "liquid" stuff as long as it is checked with your luggage. You can't take anything in your carry-on if it is over 3 oz. You can take batteries with you in your carry-on or also in your checked luggage. Anything "liquidy" that you take in your carry-on, you have to put in a plastic 1-quart size baggie and pull out of your carry-on to go through security. You can put all of these items in one baggie. Good luck and have fun!

georgia
You can bring anything liquid no matter the size, as long as you put it in your suitcase. Nothing over 100 ml. with you on a carry-on. Batteries are also allowed. Try and put everything in the suitcase this way you have no problem. Have a nice trip!!

No absolutely not..No liquid at all is allowed on board. Its a real pest but thats the way it is!!!!
