Can i still fly without a EHIC?

Yes you can. However, you will need your EHIC card to prove that you are an EU citizen entitled to get the medical treatment it provides. You insurer will not provide you with medical treatment that is covered under the EHIC agreements.

Effectively, you need the EHIC card should you need medical treatment but you can fly without it. You'll just have to pay for any EHIC covered medical treatment if you require it.

Yes, but you would be daft not to because this card entitles you to free or reduced healthcare in EEC countries which otherwise could be quite expensive. Even if you have travel insurance, you should still have your EHIC because say for example you fell and hurt yourself whilst you were drunk and needed hospital attention; your insurance wouldn't pay because you were intoxicated, but your EHIC would get you the free or reduced medical care that you needed. They don't take long to come through and you can even apply online, and it lasts a good few years - and it's free!!!

yeah , but you need some holiday insurance and you will need a EHIC to claim in Europe...

life on mars
Yes, but you will need some kind of health insurance.

Guardian angel
No, at the very least you will need an aeroplane

You can, but they are free and easy to get hold of even on-line, and mine came in 3 days. If you lost it though you could still fly, and with a passport they could probably look you up on a central computer system.

of no use in most of world and not a requirement in Europe

Have you flow with an EHIC, if so I would like to see you do so.
